Abstract

Globalization and development of times have triggered the entry of various types of foreign subculturesinto the country, one of which is the Gothic subculture which is widely embraced by the nation's younggeneration, especially in big cities. This subculture is generally associated with things that tend to bedepressive and contain elements of rebellion which cause negative societal stigma and stereotypestowards people who are part of this subculture, thus creating limitations in accessibility. The design, which discusses the application of gothic subculture into deluxe ready-to-wear clothing with textile artexperiments, was carried out with the aim of showing the artistic and aesthetic side of gothic style tocounter the negative views of the general public and the limited accessibility of gothic subculture usingqualitative research methods by collecting data from 6 experts and 12 extreme users. The design method used is Design Thinking which consists of five stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and testing which produces five final designs by applying textile art and trend analysis in collections inspired by the Gothic subculture. It is hoped that this design can be a mean of self-expression so that stereotypes and negative views of the gothic subculture are not the focus of society and can expand the accessibility of this style to the general public.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, Perca, Produksi, Hewan, Desa Bungurasih    ABSTRACT The sewing training program was carried out in Bungurasih Village in Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province. The majority of entrepreneurship carried out in Bungurasih Village is in the form of food businesses without any innovation carried out by the community. Patchwork is made from unused leftover fabric scraps and is usually thrown away by tailors and fabric companies. Patchwork is included in the inorganic waste category because the material cannot be decomposed naturally. After considering these problems, here we see the potential for a patchwork business that can be developed by the community and become a business opportunity for the development of Bungurasih Village. The program is aimed at processing patchwork fabric into animal clothing and accessories, also developing Bungurasih Village entrepreneurship, especially in the fashion sector by making typical village products, and it is hoped that the participating communities will be able to master the basics of sewing so that they are able to produce marketable products. This service activity is delivered in the form of workshops carried out in stages, namely cloth sorting, initial survey, basic sewing training, material application, production assistance, and evaluation. The results during the training showed that the fabric sorting and cutting process was quite satisfying because the process was carried step by step and was organized. Training activities require mentoring and quality control so that sandang terpandang participants can pay attention to sewing techniques and adjustments to equalize the quality of stitching and product neatness. The resulting product that has passed the checking and revision process is then ready to be marketed. After training that had been carried out for approximately 3 months, the village Bungurasih community has succeeded in improving the ability to sew the products that have been taught, so that in the next training the participants can make products independently without supervision. Keywords: Training, Fabric Scraps, Production, Animals, Bungurasih Village
