Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a long-term disease, this disease makes the heart work harder to pump blood through the body's blood arteries which causes heart disease. This can cause damage to blood vessels. Hypertension is characterized by a person's blood pressure being higher than normal and with symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, migraines, irritability, nosebleeds, stiff neck, dizzy eyes, insomnia, and blood pressure results of more than 120/80 mmHg. Method: The research design uses a descriptive research design with a case study approach. by measuring blood pressure using a tensiometer and the results obtained through blood pressure examination and after consuming 200 grams of watermelon juice. Results:. The application of watermelon juice administration found that there was a change in blood pressure in hypertension patients before and after the application of watermelon juice administration in hypertension patients with a decrease in blood pressure in three participants Conclusions: There was a change in blood pressure between before and after administration of processed watermelon juice to reduce blood pressure in hypertension sufferers in the three participants

Abstract

ABSTRACT Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still a public health problem in endemic areas such as Jahab Village, Tenggarong. Knowledge serves as the basis for preventive behavior, but there is generally a gap between knowledge and practice. This study aims to analyze social determinants (age, gender, education, and occupation) on the level of knowledge about dengue prevention in communities in endemic areas. The study uses a descriptive design analysis of a cross-sectional approach. With 100 respondents selected by consecutive sampling, using an instrument consisting of a structured questionnaire (results tested for validity = 0.184 and results tested for reliability Cronbach's alpha = 0.815. Descriptive statistical methods are used to describe the distribution of knowledge, and the Chi-Square test (α = 0.05) is used as an association test between variables. Most respondents (60%) had good knowledge of dengue prevention, 34% moderate, and 6% less. The univariate CHI-SQ test was conducted and the results showed a very significant association between education and knowledge of dengue prevention (χ² = 31,482, df = 6, p = 0.001), as well as between employment and knowledge of dengue prevention (χ² = 29,874; df = 10; p = 0.003). Respondents with a university education (100%), teachers (100%) and respondents working in the private sector scored well (95.2%). The T-test and the chi-square large population test showed that age (χ² = 6,341, df = 3 p = 0.093) and sex (χ² = 1,675; df = 2 p = 0.432) showed no statistically significant association. Identified a relationship between social determinants (education and employment) and knowledge of dengue prevention that were statistically significant, while age and gender showed no statistical significance. These results suggest that knowledge-targeting interventions need to consider education stratification and work-based access to information. However, just good knowledge is not enough because new approaches must be obtained through knowledge in order for the noble goal of continuing preventive attitudes and behaviors to be achieved. Keywords: Social Determinants, Knowledge of Dengue Prevention, Education, Employment, Beyond Knowledge.
