Abstract

Financial literacy is essential for younger generation to understand how to manage finances, along with its potential profits and risks involved. This community service activity aimed to improve financial literacy among students of SMA Negeri 1 Medan. The program was conducted through seminars and interactive simulations using Stocklab game, which allow students to learn about stock investments in a fun and practical way. The activity took place over two days, starting with educational sessions on investment, risks, and diversification strategies. The next part involved a capital market simulation by using the Stocklab game. Pre-test and post-test questionnaires were administered to evaluate the students' understanding. The pre-test and post-test results showed a significant improvement in students' understanding of investments and the capital market, including their ability to recognize risks and identify reliable sources of information. In conclusion, the simulation-based capital market literacy education was effective in enhancing students' ability to manage finances and investments, helping them become financially savvy young individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of Liquidity, Receivables Turnover and Profit Growth on Profitability with Capital Structure as a moderation variable. This population is 594 companies. The sampling method used in this study was a purposive sampling method and obtained as many as 211 companies with observational data of 633 companies. This research data was obtained from the financial statements of non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2017-2019. The research method used is a structural equation model with the IBM AMOS 2 program. The results of the sub-structural equation analysis show that Profit Growth has a positive effect on Profitability while Liquidity and Receivables Turnover do not affect profitability through the Capital Structure as a Moderation variable in Non-Financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2019 period.

Abstract

Profitabilitas merupakan indikator penting yang mencerminkan kinerja keuangan perusahaan serta menjadi tolok ukur bagi investor dalam menilai prospek usaha. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemilikan institusional, ukuran perusahaan, leverage, dan likuiditas terhadap profitabilitas pada perusahaan sektor industrial yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2022–2023. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 48 perusahaan yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan Partial Least Square (PLS) melalui aplikasi SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemilikan institusional dan leverage tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap profitabilitas. Sebaliknya, ukuran perusahaan dan likuiditas terbukti berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap profitabilitas. Nilai Adjusted R-Square sebesar 11,1% mengindikasikan bahwa variabel independen dalam penelitian ini hanya mampu menjelaskan profitabilitas sebagian kecil, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar model. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi bahwa dalam upaya meningkatkan profitabilitas, manajemen perusahaan sektor industrial perlu memperhatikan strategi pengelolaan aset dan menjaga likuiditas yang sehat, sementara pengaruh kepemilikan institusional dan leverage tidak secara langsung menentukan tingkat profitabilitas.
