Abstract

This study aims to explore the meaning of work ethics in relation to employees’ mental health within the café industry, with a specific focus on Ox Coffee in Medan. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five permanent employees across various roles. The findings indicate that the application of work ethics at Ox Coffee encompasses discipline, responsibility, open communication, customer service, and skills development. Employees perceive work ethics as a guide for managing job-related stress, a foundation for psychological well-being, a contributor to professional identity, and a mechanism for reducing workplace conflict and tension. Key factors such as fairness in task distribution, constructive communication, recognition of employee contributions, and work-life balance were found to significantly influence mental health. The study recommends strategies including the development of a supportive and inclusive work culture, skills training, effective communication systems, and mental health programs to foster a psychologically healthy workplace in the café sector.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has revolutionized the way companies manage their business operations. Operational management is no longer limited to process efficiency, but has evolved into an adaptive, data-driven system supported by advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, and cloud computing. This article aims to explore the evolution of operational management in the digital era by identifying major challenges such as the digital skill gap, technological infrastructure limitations, and organizational resistance to change, while also examining strategic opportunities such as automation, enhanced efficiency, and data-based decision making. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this study provides both theoretical and empirical perspectives on the importance of operational innovation in building competitive advantage amid ongoing digital disruption.

Abstract

This article presents a theoretical review of the relationship between monetary policy and inflation rates in developing countries. High inflation remains a major challenge for developing economies due to global price fluctuations, import dependency, and weak domestic economic structures. Monetary policy instruments such as policy interest rates, open market operations, and reserve requirements play a vital role in controlling inflation, although their effectiveness is often hampered by shallow financial markets, low financial inclusion, and limited central bank credibility. Moreover, external factors such as imported inflation reduce the ability of monetary policy to maintain price stability. This study highlights the importance of digital innovation, including the use of big data, digital payment systems, and real-time analytics to enhance monetary policy effectiveness. It concludes that structural reforms, stronger central bank credibility, and strategic adoption of digital innovation are essential to achieve price stability and sustainable economic growth in the globalization era.
