Abstract

Kata Kunci : Tindak pidana, Kepemiikan senjata api, etika profesi ABSTRACT One of the criminal cases involving firearm possession occurred when a police officer unintentionally shot a civilian in Gorontalo City. The incident occurred in Wumialo Village, and the issue raised by this case is how the judge considered the case and applied sanctions against the police officer who misused the firearm. This research aims to examine the judge's consideration and the application of sanctions against the police officer for the misuse of the firearm. This study used a normative research method, where the researcher analyzed the "Verdict on Firearm Possession Crimes, Case Number 42/Pid.Sus/2023 at the Gorontalo District Court." The data collection technique involved legal analysis, verdict review, and relevant legal provisions. The study results indicated the judge's consideration in verdict Number 42/Pid.Sus/2023 considered Article 1, Paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951. This article contained alternative elements, so if one or more were fulfilled, they could be considered valid and proven according to the law. The application of sanctions against the police officer who misused the firearm is based on various considerations, including factors that could aggravate or mitigate the defendant's punishment. Abstract

Creativity is involved whenever we try something new, so it is an inherent part of learning. Scholars and educators have acknowledged the importance of the learning environment, especially the creative learning environment, on student creativity. The green emotional class was designed to foster creativity while promoting positive emotions and nature awareness in a fun learning environment for young learners. The learning environment was assessed using observation and survey methods based on the physical environment, learning climate, and learners' engagement. Results showed that the teacher's cheerful disposition and guidance made learners comfortable expressing creativity and exploring nature. So, promoting green emotion in the classroom fosters a creative and fun learning environment.

Abstract

This study investigates the production of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) from sugarcane bagasse and evaluates their adsorption performance for the removal of metronidazole (MNZ) from aqueous solutions. CNCs were synthesized through acid hydrolysis and characterized for use as an adsorbent. Batch adsorption experiments were conducted to assess the interaction between MNZ and CNCs under varying conditions. Equilibrium data were analyzed using Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models, with the Freundlich model demonstrating a superior fit (R² = 0.8818), indicating multilayer adsorption on a heterogeneous surface. Kinetic modeling revealed that the adsorption process followed a pseudo-second-order model (R² = 0.9972), suggesting that chemisorption is the dominant mechanism. Thermodynamic parameters, including Gibbs free energy (ΔG), enthalpy (ΔH), and entropy (ΔS), were calculated to understand the nature of the adsorption. Negative ΔG values at all examined temperatures confirmed the spontaneous nature of the process, while positive ΔH values indicated that adsorption was endothermic and favored at elevated temperatures. The results collectively demonstrate that sugarcane bagasse-derived CNCs exhibit promising adsorption capabilities for MNZ, combining favorable kinetics, thermodynamics, and equilibrium behavior. This work underscores the potential of agricultural waste valorization for the development of cost-effective and sustainable adsorbents for pharmaceutical pollutant removal in water treatment applications.

Abstract

Plastic pollution has emerged as a major environmental problem affecting terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and posing human health risks through microplastic exposure and chemical leaching. This research reviews the biodegradability of common plastics and examines biological approaches—particularly microbial and enzymatic degradation—as complementary strategies to mechanical and chemical recycling. Drawing on recent experimental and review literature, it describes microbial colonization of plastic surfaces and the enzymatic mechanisms underlying depolymerization, with emphasis on PET hydrolases such as PETase and MHETase, cutinases, and oxidative enzymes including laccases. The study further outlines analytical methods for assessing plastic degradation and evaluates strategies to enhance enzymatic depolymerization, such as protein engineering, enzyme immobilization, and physical or chemical pretreatment of substrates. In addition, it discusses scale-up challenges, biosafety considerations, and pathways for integrating biotechnological solutions into circular economy frameworks, and formulates recommendations for future research and pilot-scale deployment. Overall, the review highlights the potential and limitations of microbial and enzymatic plastic biodegradation as part of a broader portfolio of interventions needed to mitigate plastic pollution.
