Abstract

This article aims to explore the meaning of costly grace according to Dietrich Bonhoeffer and why it still matters for believers today in Indonesia. Throughout his exploration and interpretation, Bonhoeffer has written extensively about what he thought to be a costly grace to fight against cheap grace. Costly grace is also an idea that has been discussed by various theologians. Many have debated what it truly means from different perspectives. So, the question is, what does costly grace mean for Christians today? Bonhoeffer’s concept of costly grace has led theologians around the world to rethink what it means to have faith, precisely because Bonhoeffer’s version of faith itself is a costly one. Faith is also something that’s considered a great commitment that all Christians must have. Faith and grace themselves should not be cheap, and they should be costly. Bonhoeffer’s concept of costly grace is also worth considering in today’s world. This article finds that costly grace is needed for Christians today.

Abstract

This article explores how and what holistic pastoral counseling is and how it can be done in the context of the GKPS church. This is because, although the service already exists, it has not been implemented optimally. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to maximize and develop the potential of this service. This development takes into account the context of the GKPS church as a Protestant church with a strong cultural and ethnic inculturation background. Efforts to develop this potential are carried out by providing useful ideas for the church. Namely, applicable and useful suggestions that can be carried out by the church. This is important considering two things, namely the urgent need of the congregation for holistic pastoral counseling services and the positive impact and benefits that can be provided pastoral counseling. The contribution of ideas is obtained from a qualitative research method that combines literature study methods and interviews with informants. Thus, this research can produce an offer of new ideas that are useful both for further development and for implementation in GKPS.

Abstract

Artikel ini menemukan bahwa fenomena Hubungan Tanpa Status atau disebut sebagai “HTS” dewasa ini telah mencerminkan krisis relasional di tengah generasi remaja dan pemuda Kristen pada masa kini. Fenomena ini ditandai oleh hubungan yang tidak memiliki komitmen dan bahkan menghindarinya. Ia juga memiliki tanggung jawab yang bersifat ambigu dan mereduksi relasi manusia menjadi sekadar gratifikasi emosional secara temporer. Hubungan seperti ini secara langsung bertentangan dengan prinsip komitmen dalam hubungan manusia (bnd. Kej. 2:24 & 1 Kor. 13:4-7). Melalui studi literatur dengan pendekatan teologis-etis, artikel ini menyelidiki peran yang dimiliki dan dijalankan oleh PAK (Pendidikan Agama Kristen) dalam merespon fenomena tersebut sebagai suatu krisis relasional yang relevan dalam konteks generasi muda Kristen pada masa kini. Artikel ini menemukan bahwa PAK merespon HTS di tengah generasi muda Kristen sebagai krisis relasional dengan cara membangun fondasi teologis-etis untuk mencegahnya.
