Abstract

The purpose of this research is to provide an increase in the use of technology, especially digital technology, in the implementation of elections in a democratic country like Indonesia. The 2024 General Election faces various challenges that arise, so there is a need for digitalisation in democracy that will simplify the process of implementing General Elections in the future. The utilisation of digital technology, especially social media, is key in the implementation of future General Elections to simplify the election process as well as a channel of communication and information to the public or voters. This research uses normative legal research methods conducted by examining library materials with primary legal sources in the form of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections, Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, General Election Commission Regulation Number 15 of 2023 concerning General Election Campaigns, and secondary legal sources in the form of books, journals and other literature. As a result of the research, it is known that the application of digital technology is expected to increase voter participation and the quality of democracy in Indonesia, reduce fraud, create more transparent, accountable, sustainable elections, and reduce problems that arise during General Elections. On the other hand, improving the skills of election organisers is also needed to improve professionalism and prevent mistakes.

Abstract

Along with the national development program carried out by the government, a work copyright law was enacted which is expected to provide ease of doing business, inflow of investment, so as to create jobs and improve people's welfare. This study aims to examine the impact of Article 88C paragraphs 1 and 2 of the work copyright law number 11 of 2020 on district minimum wages in Indonesia. Because there were many controversies, demonstrations by workers and students emerged who understood that this article is more detrimental to workers because it lowers the district or city minimum wage. The research method used is descriptive and normative methods in the form of literature studies. In the perspective of Indonesian law, this article provides protection for workers and companies in order to create economic stability. However, there are still challenges and problems in determining efforts to determine the District/City Minimum Wage, such as if it only follows the Provincial Minimum Wage then the District/City Minimum Wage may be lower and vice versa. Therefore, discussions and in-depth studies are needed to consider the interests of all parties, including workers, employers, and the general public.

Abstract

Franchise is a form of business that is growing and popular in today's business world. However, this business also requires strong legal protection, especially regarding copyright. This study aims to analyze the legal protection of franchisors and franchises from a copyright perspective. The research method used is an inductive qualitative method. The results of the study show that legal protection for franchisors and franchisors from a copyright perspective is very important to prevent copyright infringement and ensure business continuity. In the perspective of Indonesian law, the Copyright Law provides strong legal protection for franchisors and franchisors. However, there are still challenges and problems in implementing this legal protection, such as a lack of awareness and understanding of copyright. Therefore, more serious efforts are needed from related parties, such as business owners, government and related institutions, to increase awareness and understanding of legal protection of franchising and franchising from a copyright perspective.
