Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to improve the learning outcomes and learning activities of Grade 7F students at SMPN 2 Mataram on the topic of angles through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in three cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and student activity questionnaires using a Likert scale. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, with the percentage of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria increasing from 65% in Cycle I, to 80% in Cycle II, and 90% in Cycle III. The number of students who achieved mastery also increased, from 10 students (23.25%) in Cycle I, to 21 students (48.84%) in Cycle II, and 37 students (86.05%) in Cycle III. Students’ learning activities also improved, with recorded percentages of 55.81% in Cycle I, 74.42% in Cycle II, and 88.37% in Cycle III. Abstract

Abstract This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students on the topic of circles in class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 2 Mataram. The aim of this research was to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. This study was conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in three cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The CRT approach was applied by developing student worksheets (LKPD) that reflected local culture and students’ daily experiences, as well as using contextual PowerPoint-based media. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observation of student activities. The results showed an increase in students’ average scores from 49.42 in the pre-cycle to 83.02 in the third cycle, with the percentage of classical completeness increasing from 13.95% to 86.04%. In addition to cognitive improvement, student engagement during the learning process also showed positive development. The implementation of the PBL model combined with the CRT approach proved to be effective in creating meaningful, contextual, and relevant mathematics learning experiences for students.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of ninth-grade students (Class IX G) at SMP Negeri 2 Mataram in the 2023/2024 academic year through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The subjects of this study were 39 students from Class IX G. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, conducted over two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through learning outcome evaluation tests administered at the end of each cycle and analyzed using a quantitative descriptive approach. The results of the analysis showed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes on the topic of curved-surface solid geometry after the application of the PBL model. This improvement was evidenced by an increase in the percentage of students who achieved the minimum mastery criteria (KKM), from 76.51% in the first cycle with an average score of 76.51 to 87.18% in the second cycle with an average score of 83. These findings indicate that the implementation of Problem-Based Learning effectively enhances both the average learning outcomes and the proportion of students who meet the mastery criteria.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang memiliki peran penting dalam perkembangan berpikir logis dan sistematis peserta didik. Namun, dalam praktiknya, banyak peserta didik yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep-konsep matematika, yang berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD mempengaruhi hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas 8 di SMPN 2 Mataram. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) menggunakan model Kemmis dan MC Taggart yang dilakukan dalam 2 siklus. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah melalui observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil pra siklus menunjukkan dari 42 peserta didik hanya 20 yang memperoleh nilai di atas KKM dengan persentase . Pada siklus I mengalami peningkatan sebesar  dimana 28 peserta didik mendapat nilai di atas KKM dengan persentase  dan pada siklus II meningkat sebesar , dimana persentase peserta didik mendapat nilai di atas KKM adalah . Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD berhasil meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik pada materi lingkaran di kelas VIII F SMPN 2 Mataram.
