Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi latihan otot lengan terhadap keterampilan teknik dasar free throw pada siswa ekstrakurikuler bola basket di SMK Negeri 3 Karawang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest, melibatkan 15 siswa sebagai subjek. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa tes keterampilan free throwyang dilaksanakan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Perlakuan diberikan dalam bentuk program latihan otot lengan yang terdiri dari push-up, diamond push-up, chin-up, shoulder taps, dan decline push-up, dilakukan selama 12 sesi (2 sesi untuk pretest dan posttest, serta 10 sesi perlakuan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan free throw. Rata-rata skor pretest sebesar 20,40 meningkat menjadi 35,33 pada posttest. Analisis data menggunakan uji Paired T-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (<0,05), yang berarti terdapat pengaruh yang nyata dari program latihan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan free throw. Latihan otot lengan secara terstruktur terbukti mampu meningkatkan kekuatan, stabilitas, dan koordinasi otot, sehingga berdampak positif terhadap performa free throw. Disarankan agar pelatih bola basket mengintegrasikan variasi latihan ini dalam program rutin, serta mendorong siswa untuk melakukan latihan secara mandiri guna menunjang peningkatan kemampuan bermain bola basket Abstract This study aims to analyze the effect of arm muscle training variations on basic free throw skills among basketball extracurricular students at SMK Negeri 3 Karawang. The research employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 15 student participants. Data were collected through free throw skill tests conducted before and after the treatment. The treatment consisted of an arm muscle training program including push-ups, diamond push-ups, chin-ups, shoulder taps, and decline push-ups, carried out over 12 sessions (2 sessions for pretest and posttest, and 10 treatment sessions). The results showed a significant improvement in free throw performance, with the average score increasing from 20.40 (pretest) to 35.33 (posttest). Data analysis using a Paired T-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect of the training program on free throw skills. Structured arm muscle exercises were proven to enhance strength, stability, and muscle coordination, which positively influenced free throw performance. It is recommended that basketball coaches incorporate this training into regular practice routines and encourage students to perform the exercises independently to further develop their basketball skills.
