Abstract

This study aims to analyze the interests of Information Systems students in elective courses offered by the program. The objective of this research is to determine the extent to which students tend to choose courses based on their interests and the relevance of those courses to their future careers. The research is categorized as quantitative, using a non-experimental approach and descriptive method. The data used in this study are quantitative in nature, consisting of numerical values obtained from 50 students who voluntarily expressed their preferences for three elective courses: Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Interactive Educational Applications. After the data were collected, they were processed using percentage analysis to determine the distribution of student interest in each course. The results were then presented in the form of diagrams to provide a clearer visual representation. Based on the research findings, the results show that: 1) The Data Mining course ranked first with the highest level of interest, at 66%. Most students chose this course because it is considered more beneficial for future careers and easier to understand. 2) In second place was the Machine Learning course, with an interest level of 18%, where students were drawn to the subject due to its alignment with their personal interests. 3) Finally, Interactive Educational Applications ranked third with 16%, with most students selecting it based on recommendations from their Academic Advisors.

Abstract

Abstract: The development of information technology encourages companies to adapt by implementing more effective and efficient systems, including in the management of employee data. This study aims to analyze and design a web-based employee data management information system at PTPN IV Regional II Gunung Bayu Plantation as a solution to administrative problems that were previously handled manually. The system development method used is the Waterfall model, which consists of the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Data collection was carried out through direct observation, interviews with related parties, and analysis of documents related to the employee data management process.The results of the study indicate that the developed system is able to improve administrative efficiency, accelerate data processing, and minimize input errors and data duplication. Furthermore, this web-based system provides easier real-time access to information and supports transparency among organizational units. With a simple and responsive user interface, the system can be easily operated by the human resources department. Overall, the implementation of the web-based employee data management information system has proven to enhance administrative performance and support the application of good corporate governance principles. Keywords: Information System, Employee Data, Web-Based, Management Abstrak: Perkembangan teknologi informasi mendorong perusahaan untuk beradaptasi dengan menerapkan sistem yang lebih efektif dan efisien, termasuk dalam proses pengelolaan data karyawan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan merancang sistem informasi pengelolaan data karyawan berbasis web di PTPN IV Regional II Kebun Gunung Bayu sebagai solusi terhadap permasalahan administrasi yang sebelumnya ditangani secara manual. Metode pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah model Waterfall, yang terdiri dari tahapan analisis kebutuhan, desain sistem, implementasi, pengujian, dan pemeliharaan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara dengan pihak terkait, dan analisis dokumen yang berkaitan dengan proses pengelolaan data karyawan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi administrasi, mempercepat pengolahan data, dan meminimalkan kesalahan input dan duplikasi data. Lebih lanjut, sistem berbasis web ini memberikan akses informasi secara real-time yang lebih mudah dan mendukung transparansi antar unit organisasi. Dengan antarmuka pengguna yang sederhana dan responsif, sistem ini dapat dioperasikan dengan mudah oleh departemen sumber daya manusia. Secara keseluruhan, implementasi sistem informasi pengelolaan data karyawan berbasis web telah terbukti meningkatkan kinerja administrasi dan mendukung penerapan prinsip-prinsip tata kelola perusahaan yang baik.
