Abstract

ABSTRACT Babies with low birth weight are susceptible to hypothermia (body temperature of 32-36.4OC which causes instability in the baby's body temperature. Unstable body temperature of babies who tend to hypothermia can increase the need for oxygen and result in increased energy expenditure by the baby so that this condition can result in hampered weight gain. baby's body, then general care for LBW care is immediately carried out after birth, including the kangaroo method of care. This research aims to analyzeThe influence of the kangaroo method of care on increasing body temperature in low birth weight babies in the NICU Room at RSUD Dr. H. Aloei Saboe. This research is a quantitative study using a one group pre-test and post-test design which provides treatment or intervention to research subjects and then the effects of the treatment are measured and analyzed. This sampling used total sampling with a total of 10 samples. The research results showed that the average body temperature before was 36.28OC with a standard deviation of 0.0422 and after the kangaroo method treatment the average body temperature was 36.70OC with a standard deviation of 0.0447, and the statistical test results of the paired sample t-test were 0.000. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of kangaroo treatment therapy on the stability of body temperature in LBW babies in the NICU Room at Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Regional Hospital Keywords: LBW, FMD, Body Temperature  ABSTRAK Bayi dengan BBLR rentan untuk mengalami hipotermia (suhu tubuh 32-36,4OC yang menyebabkan ketidakstabilan suhu tubuh bayi.
