Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of IAA concentration and find the optimum IAA concentration on the growth of stem cuttings of Jupiter variety grapes. The parameters observed in the experiment include: Percentage of budding cuttings, Age of budding cuttings, Number of buds per cuttings 65 hst, Height or Length of shoots 65 hst, Number of leaves per cuttings 65 hst, and Number of live plants 90 hst. Based on the results of experimental data analysis and discussion, several conclusions can be drawn as follows: IAA concentration treatment has a significant effect on increasing the percentage of sprouted cuttings, shoot length 65 hst and number of live plants 90 hst, IAA-optimum concentration for the percentage of sprouted cuttings is 50 ppm IAA, 65 HST shoot length is 35 ppm IAA, and the number of live plants is 33.33 ppm IAA. Growth of grape stem cuttings was higher at concentration treatments lower than 100 ppm IAA concentrations. The effect of IAA concentration on the growth of grape stem cuttings effectively promotes growth lower than 100 ppm concentration, whereas treatment of higher concentrations markedly suppresses the growth of observed parameters. The optimum IAA concentration in more valid grape stem cuttings needs to be experimented with the effect of IAA concentrations below 100 ppm on the growth of Jupiter grape cuttings, because the regression equation obtained in this experiment is influenced by the level of treatment performed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of planting media (Top soil Ultisol, Sand and Goat Manure) on the growth of Porang (Amorphophallus muelleri) seedlings. This study used a non-factorial randomized block design (RAK). The treatment factor was the composition of the growing media which consisted of 7 levels of treatment, namely: A = Topsoil ultisol 100%, B = 100% goat manure, C = 100% sand, D = Topsoil ultisol + goat manure + sand (1 : 1: 1 : 1), E = Topsoil ultisol + goat manure + sand (1 : 2: 1), F = Topsoil ultisol + goat manure + sand (2 : 1: 1), G = Topsoil ultisol + goat manure + sand ( 1:1:2). The parameters observed were the percentage of germination, plant height, stem diameter and leaf area of the plant. Based on the results of the study, it can be stated that the composition of a mixture of topsoil ultisol, goat manure and sand has a significant effect on the growth of porang seedlings. The best growth of porang seedlings was found in the composition of topsoil, sand and goat manure with a ratio of 1: 1: 2 (E). The application of goat manure and sand on top soil ultisol had a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter and leaf area, but had no significant effect on the percentage of seedling growth.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of gibberellins acid growth regulator (GA3) on the germination of sugar palm seeds. The experiment was carried out at Graha Tanjung Anom with an altitude of about 50 masl from December 2021 to May 2022. The experiment was carried out using a non-factorial Randomized Block Design. The factors studied were the treatment of gibberellins acid concentrations with 8 levels namely G0 ; zero or no gibberellins acid, G1 : 0.5 mg / l ; G2 : 1.0 mg/l ; G3 :1.5 mg/l : G4 :2.0 mg/l : G5 : 2.5 mg/l ; G5 ; 2.5 mg/l ; G6 ; 3.0 mg/l and G7 ; 3.5mg/l. The treatment consisted of 3 repetitions (blocks) so that there were 3x8 = 24 experimental units (plots). Each experimental unit (plot) consisted of 20 seeds (polybags). Parameters observed were the percentage of seeds germinating, average germination age, seedling height, number of leaves and stem diameter. Based on data analysis (Anova), and the discussion some conclusions can be drawn as follows; Concentrations of 0 to 3.5 mg/l GA3 markedly increased the percentage of seed germination, accelerated the germination age of 5.48 days, tended to increase seedling height and number of leaves as well as the diameter of the base of the seedling stems. It is necessary to investigate the effect of GA3 concentration and soaking time on sugar palm seed germination.
