Abstract

The ability of students to perform quantitative data analysis is a crucial skill in conducting scientific research. However, many students face challenges, both in selecting appropriate analytical techniques relevant to their research topics and in using data analysis software such as SPSS or other supporting applications. These challenges often hinder students in analyzing research data effectively. This community service activity aims to enhance students' skills in identifying suitable analytical techniques for scientific research and in using data analysis software such as SPSS. The implementation methods include delivering materials on descriptive and inferential statistics, conducting simulations on SPSS usage, and facilitating discussion and Q&A sessions. The results of the training show an improvement in participants’ understanding of how to choose appropriate analytical techniques and operate statistical software for research purposes. This activity also contributes to increasing students’ confidence and independence in conducting scientific research. The training is expected to serve as a sustainable and integrated model for academic development in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Abstract

Interactions between biotic and abiotic components in ecosystems influence insect mortality, natality, and dispersal, thereby making species composition dynamic. The presence and abundance of arthropods in agricultural systems cannot be precisely predicted, as they are affected by numerous factors such as cropping practices, habitat type, plant age, and interspecific interactions among arthropods. This study aimed to examine the diversity, abundance, and community composition of arthropods across four agricultural habitat types: maize, soybean, weeds, and soil surface. Arthropod samples were collected through direct observation, sweep netting, and pitfall traps. The findings revealed that insects from the order Hemiptera had the highest abundance in comparison to other orders, with 51 individuals recorded on maize and 409 on soybean. In contrast, 244 insects were found on weeds, dominated by the order Diptera. On the soil surface, a total of 482 insects were collected, predominantly from the order Collembola. The Collembola order exhibited the lowest values in terms of relative diversity index (H′), dominance (D), and evenness (E) compared to other habitats. The Bray–Curtis similarity index between soybean and weed habitats was the highest (0.205), indicating a greater similarity in arthropod composition between these two habitats. Conversely, the lowest similarity value (0.043) was observed between soybean and soil surface habitats, suggesting a greater difference in arthropod community composition.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The aim of this research is to explore and reveal the values of Islamic education in the tradition of celebrating the Prophet's birthday in one of the villages in Indonesia, in several countries such as Iran and Pakistan by integrating qualitative and phenomenological approaches. Methodology: This research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach to explore the values of Islamic education in celebrating the Prophet's birthday in various regions in Indonesia, Iran and Pakistan. Data was collected through interviews, observation and document research, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, verification and drawing conclusions. Main Findings: The research results highlight the differences and similarities in the traditions of the Prophet's birthday in Indonesia, Iran and Pakistan. In Indonesia, celebrations tend to reflect local cultural diversity and interfaith tolerance. In Iran, the Prophet's Birthday tradition has become an integral part of Muslim life with the added element of art and performance. Meanwhile in Pakistan, celebrations involve strong religious and social activities, strengthening the bonds of the Muslim community. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this research lies in exploring the unique aspects of celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in madrasah in Indonesia, Iran and Pakistan. This study explores the values of Islamic education embedded in this tradition, contributing fresh insights into various cultural expressions and spiritual meanings in society.
