Abstract

Tulisan ini menjelaskan mengenai pelaksanaan ibadah haji di Hindia Belanda yang mengalami berbagai regulasi oleh kolonial Belanda. Berbagai regulasi yang ada, secara politis digunakan untuk mengawasi umat Islam dan seberapa kuat pengaruh kaum haji bagi pergerakan umat Islam di Hindia Belanda. Beberapa regulasi juga membatasi jumlah jamaah haji. Semua orang yang berhaji dimata-matai secara ketat pergerakannya. Namun, umat Islam Hindia Belanda masih bersemangat untuk tetap melaksanakan ibadah haji. Selain melaksanakan ibadah haji, mereka juga menimba ilmu dari ulamaulama Timur Tengah dengan membentuk koloni seperti koloni Jawa di Makkah. Ilmu itulah yang digunakan sebagai penggerak perlawan terhadap Belanda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptifanalitis yaitu penelitian yang berupaya mendeskrisikan, mencatat, menganalisa dan menginterprestasikan kondisi-kondisi yang ada sehingga diharapkan memberikan gambaran mengenai pelaksanaan ibadah haji masa kolonial dan bentuk perlawanan umat Islam Hindia Belanda terhadap dominasi Belanda.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of ulama (Islamic scholars) in Indonesian democracy, specifically in the context of the Pemilu Presiden 2024 , by examining the historical dynamics of ulama involvement in politics from the Old Order to the Reformation era. The research method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach, employing phenomenology theory and Foucault's historical genealogy. The results show that the role of ulama in Indonesian politics is influenced by political changes, social movements, and religious principles. In the Pemilu Presiden 2024, ulama were involved in various forms of support, including public support and declarations, mass mobilization, influencing public opinion, bestowing titles and honors, and practical political roles. However, this involvement also poses challenges, such as polarization and the potential for religious misuse. Ulama are required to maintain neutrality and use social media wisely. Nevertheless, the role of ulama in Indonesian democracy has positive impacts, such as increasing political awareness and instilling moral values. Yet, negative impacts such as polarization and potential religious manipulation must be heeded. History notes that the ulama's role is always dynamic, influenced by political changes and religious principles.

Abstract

This paper describes the condition of women in Islam. The condition of women in the jahiliyyah period is very worrying. The position of women is greatly despised by men in every clan. They are considered weak humans who can bring disgrace to the family if a clan loses a war. Some clans even kill baby girls to avoid this misfortune. After Islam was brought by the Prophet Muhammad SAW came, the position of women began to be equalized with men. Although men should lead women because of their physical and psychological advantages. In this position, women are textually under the protection of men. However, in their careers and social activities, women have found their freedom since Islam came. The discussion that will be studied in this study includes several important things. First, is the condition of women during the jahiliyyah period. Second, the condition of women after the arrival of Islam brought by the Prophet Muhammad. The method used in this study is a historical research method including heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography.
