Abstract

Every year, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in boosting economic growth and increasing gross domestic product (GDP) in many countries, including Indonesia. Among various business categories, agroindustry-based MSMEs stand out as one of the most resilient segments within the informal sector, particularly during economic crises. This resilience was evident in various situations, including the post-COVID-19 recovery period. However, the rapid advancement of digitalization, technology, and heightened market competition has created both opportunities and challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises. To enhance their performance, it is essential to identify the key components required for developing and strengthening human resource (HR) quality in alignment with current industry demands. This study employs a descriptive research design with a quantitative approach, utilizing multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that human resource competencies—namely education, skills, and abilities—significantly impact the performance of agroindustry-based MSMEs. The study focuses on a city known for its contribution to Indonesia’s agribusiness sector, with the aim of offering a replicable model for enhancing MSME performance in other agroindustry-oriented countries.

Abstract

This study explores how initial capital, when strategically utilized through HR-driven innovation, enhances the effectiveness of human resource management (HRM) in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Drawing on data from 155 MSMEs and using multiple regression analysis, the findings reveal that both initial capital and HR-driven innovation significantly influence HRM effectiveness, particularly in areas such as talent development, employee motivation, and organizational adaptability. The interaction between initial capital and innovation indicates that financial readiness, when aligned with innovative HR practices, amplifies the capacity of MSMEs to manage and retain human capital effectively. Meanwhile, other variables such as age, number of dependents, working hours, business duration, monthly capital, monthly personal expenditure, education, marital status, and domicile showed no significant impact. These results underscore the importance of integrating financial strategy with human resource innovation to promote sustainable business growth.

Abstract

Humans are the main axis in the company's progress, so good and qualified human resources are needed to achieve an agency's vision, mission and goals. Based on the observations, several phenomena were found related to job performance in the research object, namely the Jember Regency Public Sector Government, and several variables were considered influential. This research aims to determine and analyse whether transformational leadership and self-efficacy influence job performance through employee engagement (Case Study in the Public Sector of Jember Regency Government). This research design is explanatory research. The population in this study was 213 employees. The data sources used are primary data obtained directly in the field, such as interviews, observations and questionnaires, and secondary data obtained from literature studies through journals and documentation. The data analysis method in this research uses Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of this research show that 1) transformational leadership influences employee engagement, 2) self-efficacy influences employee engagement, 3) transformational leadership influences job performance, 4) self-efficacy influences employee job performance, 5) employee engagement influences employee job performance, 6) transformational leadership influences employee job performance through employee engagement, 7) self-efficacy influences employee job performance through employee engagement.

Abstract

Employee performance is the driving force behind organizational performance improvement. Developing an effective HR development program requires empirical evidence on how LMX, loyalty, and locus of control play a role in shaping employee performance. The research aims to explain how relational leadership shapes behavioural and psychological mechanisms that determine performance outcomes. A quantitative survey was administered to academic and administrative staff at a private university, and data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares. Findings show that high-quality LMX directly enhances employee performance and significantly strengthens both loyalty and internal locus of control. Loyalty functions as an emotional mechanism that reinforces commitment, whereas internal locus of control emerges as the strongest mediator, indicating that psychological empowerment plays a critical role in sustaining high performance. The results highlight the importance of supportive leadership, professional recognition, and participatory work environments in improving organisational outcomes. This study contributes to the literature by integrating relational and psychological constructs within one predictive model and by extending the application of relational leadership theories in higher education institutions. The findings offer practical insights for university management in designing leadership development, employee engagement initiatives, and performance enhancement strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and optimize notebook inventory control at PT Senyum Media Utama in order to anticipate the demand surge during the 2026 new academic year period (May–August). The current inventory policy relies heavily on experience-based decisions, which may result in overstock or stock shortages during seasonal fluctuations. Therefore, this research proposes a more systematic and quantitative approach by integrating ABC analysis, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Safety Stock, and Reorder Point (ROP). Inventory performance is evaluated based on total inventory cost efficiency and the establishment of quantitative reorder thresholds under a specified service level. Demand forecasting is conducted using monthly historical data from 2022 to 2024, with model validation through a train-test split approach. The results show that 9 Category A notebook products account for 70.02% of total annual inventory investment, highlighting their critical importance. Based on model assumptions, the EOQ method reduces projected total inventory costs from IDR 4,511,172 to IDR 3,664,004, resulting in an efficiency improvement of approximately 19%. In addition, Safety Stock and ROP calculations generate measurable reorder thresholds to support inventory availability and reduce stockout risk during peak demand, targeting a 95% service level. However, these findings are model-based and depend on assumptions such as constant holding costs, stable lead times, and the selected service level. Since the framework has not yet been implemented, further validation through real-world application or simulation is required. Future research is recommended to incorporate stochastic demand and lead time variability, as well as cross-company comparisons, to enhance the robustness and generalizability of the proposed approach.
