Abstract

Arabic writing instruction (kitabah) is often considered difficult by students due to conventional teaching methods that tend to be rigid and non-contextual. This study aims to examine the implementation of authentic content-based writing instruction as an effort to enhance students’ motivation and Arabic writing skills. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups of students: experimental and control. The experimental group received instruction using authentic materials such as news articles, advertisements, and social media dialogues, while the control group continued with traditional methods. Findings revealed a significant improvement in writing ability and learning motivation among students in the experimental group. Authentic content was proven to create more relevant, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences, helping students understand the practical use of Arabic in real-life contexts. Therefore, this instructional strategy is recommended for broader implementation in Arabic language curricula at secondary and tertiary educational levels.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to learn how Truth or Dare games affect the teaching of speaking skills and to explain how communication games affect students' speaking skills. You may have memories of who used the bottle to be "it" and then chose the embarrassing dare. But the most important thing to remember is how much fun this game is and how much fun it is. And when you play it in ESL class, it's just as fun for your students. All that is required to play this game is a bottle that the student can rotate to determine who is the questioner and who is asked. And best of all, it can be adapted to any class and any language level. Therefore, the criteria for success have been determined. It is important to note that communication games have a positive impact on teaching the learning process.

Abstract

Phonetics is a branch of linguistics that studies human speech sounds from articulatory, acoustic, and auditory aspects. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the basic concepts of phonetics, its scope, and its role and application in linguistics, language education, technology, and social life. This study uses a literature study method by reviewing various scientific sources in the form of relevant books and journal articles. Data are analyzed descriptively qualitatively to reveal the position of phonetics as a foundation in the analysis of language sounds. The results of the study indicate that phonetics plays a fundamental role in explaining the process of sound production, the physical characteristics of sound, and the mechanisms of human auditory perception. In addition to serving as a basis for the study of phonology, phonetics also contributes significantly to language learning, speech therapy, the development of speech recognition technology, and forensic analysis. Thus, phonetics is not only theoretical, but also applicable and interdisciplinary, and plays a vital role in understanding language as a complex and dynamic human communication system.
