Background: common problems that occur in patients with transfemoral is the lack of stability during using the prosthesis and will result in gait deviation. One of the most important components in improving the stability of the patient is the selection of the type of suspension that appropriate to the patient's needs so as to improve gait. Objective: This study aimed to determine the difference Cadance, walking speed and step length transfemoral patients when using different types of suspension Methods: The study was conducted using the method of observation. Sample research is 4 transfemoral patients have an age of 26-60 years and male sex. Patients were asked to use Silesian belt supesnion and silicone liner with lanyard suspension respectively for 7 days. Observations using tape record. Differences Cadance, walking speed and stride length calculated at the time when patient walks in the 10-meter walking test. Research carried out in clinical laboratories prosthetics and orthotics department. Results: Results indicate that there are significant differences in the type of suspension against Cadance, walking speed and stride length even though significant only on the difference Cadance. Another factor studied in this research is the influence of age and the length of the patient's stump in Cadance, walking speed and stride length. Conclusion: This research found that the Cadance, walking speed and stride length of the transfemoral patients have diffences when using two different types of suspension.

The neutral foot position of the prosthetic SACH foot has a higher heel surface from the front of the foot (metatarsal line) with 1cm heel height. The prosthesis will be aligned to match the shoes that patient will use. When the patient is using shoes, the prosthetic SACH foot will be placed in a neutral position and will be supported by the shoe. When the patient does not use the shoe, the prosthesis will tilt backward especially when the foot is mid-stance and will force the pressure of the knee toward the extension of the knee joint which can cause damage to the knee joint structure. Therefore, knee joints will be measured at the time of the patient's use and not wearing shoes during mid-stance. Objective: To find out if there are significant differences in knee joint degree during mid-stance when using and not using shoes with 1cm heel height. Methods Quantitative comparative by observation of 2-dimensional motion in transtibial amputation patients using shoes and not using shoes with cross-sectional study design. Result : The degree of knee joints generated during mid-stance by patients with transtibial amputation when using shoes was 10.8o of flexion (p = 0.004) while at the time of not using the resulting knee boots was 4.5o of flexion (p = 0,000), normal degree of knee joint during mid- stance is 10o-20o of flexion. The results of paired t-test showed that there were significant differences in knee joint degree from standard degree, but when using the shoe showed a result of 0.8o larger than the lowest normal range while when not using shoes the resulting degree of 6.3o is smaller than lowest normal range.

Background: The most common problem in patient transfemoral short stump is lack of stability during walking and creates gait deviation. One of the things that can increase the stability is which socket that used. Socket is the most important part of prosthesis for increasing stability for the patient itself. Because of that really important to decide which socket that has gait deviation close to normal especially for patient transfemoral short stump. Objectives: To know which socket that has gait deviation especially for lateral trunk bending and abducted gait those close to normal gait for patient transfemoral short stump with using quadrilateral socket and IC socket. Methods: This research is using case study method. Sample of this research is patient transfemoral short stump, male, 54 years old. Patient asked for use quadrilateral socket and IC socket 2 days each. Observation of gait deviation is using recorder. Degree of lateral trunk bending and distance of abducted gait were measured by recording in 2nd meter until 6th meter. This research has done in Clinic ortothotics prosthetics Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta I. Results: Result of the research shows that socket that have gait deviation less than ideal normal espsecially degree of lateral trunk bending and distance of abducted gait is IC socket compare to quadrilateral socket. Degree of lateral trunk bending while using ic socket got 10,07° but for quadrilateral socket got 12,57° with ideal normal is 11,32°. Distance of abducted gait for IC sockets is 25,8 cm but quadrilateral is 29 cm with distance ideal normal is 27,4 cm. Conclusion: This research shows that there is any effect of difference sockets toward gait deviation especially lateral trunk bending and abducted gait for patient transfemoral short stump. From this research get results socket that better for patient transfemoral short stump is IC socket.
