Abstract

The lack of irrigation water supply causes farmers in the downstream area of the irrigation flow to choose to plant secondary crops or clear the land. This also occurs in the Sekampung Batanghari Irrigation Area with a potential area of 9,634 ha. In analyzing water requirenment, Cropwat 8.0 software can be used as an alternative so that the calculation process becomes easier and maximized. This research aims to analyze irrigation water requirement, cropping patterns, and irrigation water supply. The data used in this study include rainfall data, weir discharge, and climatology covering the Sekampung Batanghari Irrigation Area, each for the last 10 (ten) years. The analysis carried out is to calculate discharge of the weir, effective rainfall, potential evapotranspiration, crop water requirements, cropping patterns, irrigation water supply schemes, and analyze water balance. The cropping pattern used is Paddy-Paddy-Palawija with corn as a secondary crop. The greatest value of water demand in December is 5.42 m3/s. The scheme of giving irrigation water to paddy field is carried out continuously with certain water discharge of 5 mm / day. The availability of water is declared sufficient after analyzing water demand in the first planting season, namely paddy covering 100% of the total potential area, the second planting season, namely paddy covering 75% and corn covering 25%, the third planting season, namely corn covering 20% of the total area.

Abstract

Background: The dominance of domestic waste in Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF), makes the characteristics of the waste can be categorized as combustible waste, with the type of waste mostly plastic and non-plastic. Waste dumped in Bantargebang creates new problems related to environmental pollution. The Merah Putih Waste Power Plant (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah = PLTSa) is an important thing in efforts to control air pollution and waste management, where the quantity of waste production is relatively large and needs to be handled immediately.Aims: This study aims to analyze the benefits of the Waste Power Plant in reducing air pollution at the Bantargebang IWMF.Methods: The research uses a descriptive approach to systematically describe, analyze, and explain phenomena. In addition, quantitative analysis is applied to process and interpret data in the form of numbers. Data collection methods include air pollution data analysis, where air quality monitoring data was collected between 2019 and 2024 after the PLTSa began operating.Result: Based on the data obtained, the air quality in 2019 before the PLTSa operated and after the PLTSa operated in 2024, it can be seen that the concentration of PM2.5 decreased to 33.8 µg/m³, SO2 decreased to 2.1 µg/m³, CO decreased to 1,437.0 µg/m³, NO2 decreased to 0.5 µg/m³. Furthermore, it can be seen that after the PLTSa Merah Putih Bantargebang began operating in mid-2019, it showed benefits in 2024, where most air pollutants decreased compared to 2019 (before operated), such as PM2.5, SO₂, CO, and NO₂. This decrease reflects the success of the emission control system from the waste combustion process applied to the PLTSa.

Abstract

Pendugaan erosi dan sedimentasi sangat penting dalam pengelolaan Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat erosi dan sedimentasi di DAS Nongsa, Kota Batam, menggunakan metode Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa erosi potensial rata-rata sebesar 92.141,60 ton/ha/tahun, sementara erosi aktual rata-rata mencapai 17.853,54 ton/ha/tahun. Faktor utama yang memengaruhi tingkat erosi adalah curah hujan (R) yang bervariasi setiap tahun, sedangkan faktor topografi (LS) memiliki pengaruh lebih rendah karena DAS cenderung datar. Sedimentasi yang dihasilkan mencapai rata-rata 11.902,36 m³/tahun, yang berisiko menyebabkan pendangkalan badan air. Upaya konservasi tanah, seperti penanaman vegetasi penutup dan pengelolaan curah hujan, sangat penting untuk mengurangi risiko erosi dan sedimentasi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengelolaan DAS yang berkelanjutan.
