Abstract

This paper aims to explain the seriousness of hadith scholars in the second century hijriyah in codifying hadith. With the method of library research or library research, namely data collection sourced from books, scientific journals and articles, in which there is information about the efforts of the scholars of hadith in the second century in the codification of hadith. The second-century hadith scholars codified hadith based on their obedience to the orders of Caliph Umar bin Abdul Aziz so that the preservation of hadith could be maintained from time to time. As a result, the writing and collection of hadith done by the scholars gave birth to many works of hadith books that continued to grow and the concerns of the people on the extinction of the hadith were slightly eased.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the assessment of Ibn Abi Hatim Al-Razi and the systematics of the book Al-Jarhu wata'dil. With the library research method, sourced from books and scientific journals with an analytical descriptive approach, it is expected to provide accurate information on Ibn Abi Hatim's assessment of hadith narrators. The maintenance of the authenticity of hadith is an important requirement for Islamic teachings. The nuqqad such as Ibn Abi Hatim conducted an assessment of the narrators in maintaining the validity of the hadith from error and forgery. Effort is the way to find out his authenticity and kedhabitan. The result is the classification of marathib alfadz and mustholahat specifically maqbul and mardud narrators in Al-Jarh wa ta'dil is the result of the quality of the narrator.
