Abstract

This research focuses on finding out students' motivation in learning English using online platforms, what type of motivation they have, intrinsic or extrinsic motivation, and what kind of learning motivation they experience. There are 3 online platforms used in the English learning process, namely Kahoot, Quizizz, and Google Form in class VIII SMPIT Al-Fityah Pekanbaru. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative to investigate students' motivation in learning English using online platforms. The instruments used were observation and interviews. Observation data was collected from 2 classes with 25 people each. Observation results show that students have higher intrinsic motivation than extrinsic motivation. In other words, learning motivation that comes from within the student is higher than motivation that comes from outside the student. Besides that, the interview results show students' motivation in learning English using online platforms in every aspect of ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction).

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi bagaimana peran guru kelas dalam mengintegrasikan Social Emotional Learning (SEL) untuk menurunkan kecemasan belajar pada siswa kelas IV SD. SEL adalah pendekatan pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk mengembangkan kompetensi social-emosional siswa melalui peningkatan kesadaran diri, pengelolaan diri, dan kepedulian terhadap orang lain, yang berdampak pada kesejahteraan emosional siswa serta keterlibatan mereka dalam proses belajar. Desain penelitian berupa eksperimen semu yaitu One-Group Pretest-Posttest, melibatkan 25 siswa dalam satu kelas. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa integrasi SEL secara sistematis oleh guru kelas menurunkan tingkat kecemasan belajar secara bermakna, ditandai dengan peningkatan kemampuan regulasi emosi, rasa percaya diri, dan keterlibatan aktif dalam pembelajaran. Temuan ini sejalan dengan kajian yang menunjukkan bahwa program SEL berkontribusi pada perkembangan kompetensi sosial emosional dan kesejahteraan siswa SD serta dapat mengurangi gejala kecemasan dan stres belajar. Implikasinya menekankan pentingnya pelatihan guru dan strategi pembelajaran yang responsif terhadap kebutuhan emosional siswa untuk menciptakan iklim kelas yang aman, mendukung, dan kondusif.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning media in enhancing elementary school students’ learning interest within the context of technological advancement in education. Digital media such as interactive videos, educational animations, and learning applications are increasingly integrated into teaching processes as a response to the demand for more innovative and adaptive education. This research discusses how digital learning media can stimulate students’ intrinsic motivation, strengthen engagement, and create a more enjoyable and contextual learning experience. The findings indicate that digital media holds significant potential to improve the quality of primary education by presenting content in an engaging and easily comprehensible manner. Despite technical challenges such as limited device availability and internet access, conceptually, digital learning media can serve as a strategic solution in reforming teaching methods in the digital age.
