Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) of UIN Walisongo in Sendang Dawung Village, Kendal Regency, aims to develop the local economy by strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Intensive discussions with the village community identified various local potentials, such as agricultural products, handicrafts, and traditional processed foods. However, challenges faced include limited capital, restricted market access, and a lack of managerial skills. To address these issues, a series of workshops and mentoring programs were designed, covering business management training, product quality improvement, business digitalization, and ongoing support. Additionally, collaboration with various local stakeholders, such as the Cooperative and MSME Office and financial institutions, was established to enhance support for village MSMEs. The results of this program are expected to increase the competitiveness of MSME products, open up broader market access, and ultimately improve the welfare of the Sendang Dawung Village community

Abstract

Gangguan mental seperti skizofrenia dapat menyebabkan gangguan kognitif dan emosional yang berdampak pada rendahnya motivasi kerja. Terapi okupasi telah terbukti secara empiris mampu meningkatkan kemandirian, produktivitas, serta partisipasi sosial pada individu dengan gangguan jiwa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peran terapi okupasi dalam meningkatkan motivasi kerja pada penyintas gangguan psikotik di Panti Pelayanan Sosial Disabilitas Mental Ngudi Rahayu Kendal. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling, melibatkan lima Penerima Manfaat (PM) yang aktif mengikuti program terapi okupasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kepercayaan diri, semangat kerja, serta munculnya rencana jangka panjang untuk hidup mandiri. Terapi okupasi yang terstruktur terbukti menjadi sarana rehabilitasi sosial yang efektif dalam membangun kembali motivasi kerja dan kesiapan reintegrasi sosial para PM. Temuan ini memperkuat peran strategis terapi okupasi dalam mendukung kemandirian dan kualitas hidup penyintas gangguan jiwa di lingkungan panti sosial.   Mental disorders such as schizophrenia can lead to cognitive and emotional impairments that result in low work motivation. Occupational therapy has been empirically proven to increase independence, productivity, and social participation in individuals with mental disorders. This study aims to evaluate the role of occupational therapy in increasing work motivation in survivors of psychotic disorders at Ngudi Rahayu Kendal Mental Disability Social Service Center. The study used a qualitative approach with purposive sampling technique, involving five beneficiaries who actively participated in the occupational therapy program. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results showed an increase in self-confidence, work enthusiasm, and the emergence of long-term plans to live independently. Structured occupational therapy proved to be an effective means of social rehabilitation in rebuilding the work motivation and social reintegration readiness of PMs. These findings strengthen the strategic role of occupational therapy in supporting the independence and quality of life of survivors of mental disorders in a social care environment.

Abstract

Substance abuse has a serious impact on the sleep quality of clients undergoing rehabilitation, often resulting in insomnia and other sleep disturbances that can hinder the recovery process. Poor sleep quality may exacerbate psychological conditions and increase the risk of relapse. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing a token economy as a behavioral modification method to improve the sleep quality of clients with substance use disorders during their recovery process. This research employed a mixed-method approach using a sequential exploratory design. The results showed an improvement in sleep quality among all three subjects after the implementation of the token economy. These findings suggest that the token economy is effective as a positive reinforcement strategy in modifying sleep behavior in clients with substance use disorders and may serve as an alternative approach to support the success of recovery programs.
