Abstract

People's purchasing power are dropped during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic resulting in deflation. This condition will aggravate the macroeconomic performance and economic activity of the community. The government as an economic stabilizer must take appropriate steps to create a good economic climate. On this basis, this study was formulated to review the technical efficiency of the social and economic recovery safety policy on price level movements during the COVID-19 period. This study uses efficiency analysis: Data Envelopment Analysis and Regression of short-term OLS-Estimator (STEOLSE) which involves all components of the social-economic recovery budget, inflation, economic uncertainty, economic policy uncertainty, and COVID-19 fluctuations. The results suggest that the technical efficiency of the social-economic recovery policy in the previous period will lead to a decrease in the price level. Meanwhile, the increase in COVID-19 cases caused prolonged deflation. This indicates that good budget absorption will be followed by an increase in people's purchasing power. However, the increase in COVID-19 cases will encourage people to continue to practice social distancing so that consumption activities are also disrupted.

Abstract

(Cirata Reservoir area is one of the public water resources resulting from the damming of the Citarum River, which has the main function as a hydroelectric power plant (PLTA). The reservoir is also becoming a centre of economic activity for the surrounding community, which is for the floating net cage business and the distribution of floating cage products. The high level of economic activity that occurs in Cirata Reservoir has the consequence of causing various problems that threaten the sustainability of Cirata Reservoir. The conditions that occur in Cirata Reservoir indicate that there is institutional ineffectiveness in the management of reservoir resources. If this institutional ineffectiveness continues, it will threaten the existence of Cirata Reservoir, whose function is needed by many parties. This study aims to analyze the existing institutions in the management of Cirata Reservoir in West Java through in-depth interviews with resource persons and content analysis of existing regulations. The results show that regulations related to the management and utilization of Cirata Reservoir already exist, but their implementation is still not optimal. Institutions have been established based on existing regulations with the roles of each stakeholder and the relationships between them but have not been implemented effectively. Coordination, supervision, and law enforcement are important keys in implementing the institutional design of Cirata Reservoir management to realize sustainable reservoir management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of zakat in promoting local inclusive economic growth in Indonesia. This research uses secondary panel data of 34 provinces during 2017-2022. The analysis techniques used in this study include the Poverty Equivalent Growth Rate (PEGR) inclusive economic growth measurement method and the Static Panel Regression Fixed Effect Model. This study concludes that zakat is proven to be an effective instrument in promoting inclusive economic growth in Indonesia, with a significant impact on income distribution even though its potential is still not optimized. Unique findings reveal that inclusive growth recovered faster than GDP post-pandemic, and Eastern Indonesia region showed better progress than Java as the economic center, indicating the existence of growth-versus-equity paradox.

Abstract

Lipstick effect and doom spending appear simultaneously as psychological responses to economic pressures in people's spending patterns. This community service program aims to mitigate both phenomena through Islamic financial management training for students at Al-Ghozali Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. Using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, activities include preparing Islamic financial materials, conducting interactive financial management training, and evaluating progress through pre-tests and post-tests. The program produces practical financial modules, activity reports, and scientific articles. The expected impacts include enhancing students' financial literacy, promoting healthy financial habits, and developing a sustainable financial education model grounded in Islamic values that can be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools.
