Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi di Kecamatan Gunung Tujuh, pada dasarnya bukan orang-orang malas membaca namun akses dan buku-buku tidak tersedia terlebih di daerah-daerah, toko buku, bacaan-bacaan berkualitas cukup sulit untuk didapatkan. Karena itulalah melalui organisasi Lentera Muda Kerinci mengagas rumah baca di setiap Kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Kerinci. metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) melalui survei dan analisis kebutuhan, pelatihan dan penyuluhan, pendampingan dan monitoring, serta melakukan kolaborasi dengan pihak yang terkait. Hasil pengabdian menunjukan bahwa pendirian Rumah Baca dimulai dari wawancara masyarakat sekitar serta observasi yang dilakukan untuk menentukan kebutuhan dalam pendirian 1000 rumah baca selanjutnya program disusun dengan langkah meminta izin kepada kepala desa setempat untuk mendirikan rumah baca serta melakukan open donasi buku Dampak positif terlihat dalam perubahan pola pikir masyarakat yang lebih terbuka terhadap informasi serta peningkatan keterampilan dasar dalam membaca dan menulis. Program ini tidak hanya memperkuat literasi tetapi juga menciptakan peluang sosial-ekonomi bagi masyarakat Kecamatan Gunung Tujuh.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of Islamic educational institutions in Brunei Darussalam in the social, political, and cultural context of the country. As a country that adheres to an Islamic monarchy system, Brunei Darussalam makes Islamic education an integral part of the national education system. This study aims to examine the dynamics of the growth of Islamic educational institutions, from basic education to higher education, and the government policies that support it. On the other hand, this article also highlights the various challenges faced, such as globalization, the development of information technology, and the need for competent teaching staff. Nevertheless, the prospects for Islamic education in Brunei remain bright along with the government's strong commitment to making this country a Zikir State based on Islamic values. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with an analysis of official documents, academic literature, and data policies. The results of the study indicate that the success of the development of Islamic education in Brunei is highly dependent on the ability of educational institutions to adapt to changing times without abandoning the principles of Islamic law.

Abstract

This research discusses the process of Islamization and its impact on the development of Islamic educational institutions in historical and contemporary perspectives. Islamization is understood as a systematic effort to integrate Islamic values, principles, and epistemology into various aspects of life, including in the realm of education. This research aims to examine the dynamics of the development of Islamic educational institutions such as madrasas, Islamic boarding schools, and Islamic universities in responding to social, political, and global challenges. The method used is a qualitative approach with literature review techniques on relevant literature. The results of the study show that the process of Islamization of education is not only influenced by religious encouragement, but also by the need for integration between Islamic sciences and modern sciences. These findings confirm that Islamization has become an important factor in strengthening Islamic identity and encouraging innovation in the curriculum and learning system in Islamic educational institutions. This study is expected to make a conceptual contribution to the development of Islamic education that is adaptive to the dynamics of the times.
