Abstract

The inability of infertile women to have children and relevant social stigma is significantly effective in reducing subjective well-being. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of mindfulness-based Islamic spiritual therapy on improving the subjective well-being of infertile married women. A non-randomized pretest posttest control group quasi-experimental design was implemented, with subjective well-being and mindfulness measured using the Subjective Well Being for Infertility Scale and Five Facet Questionnaire, respectively. A total of 10 participants were also selected and categorized into control and experimental groups. The results showed that the subjective well-being conditions of both groups were equal before therapy, regarding the Mann-Whitney U test with a value of Z = 0.000 and a 1.000 significance level (>0.05). The Mann Whitney U test was also implemented with a value of Z = -2.402 and a 0.016 significance level (<0.05), showing a difference in subjective well-being scores within the Control and Experimental Groups. Furthermore, the Wilcoxon Rank Test produced a Z-value and significance level of -2.023 and 0.043 (<0.05), respectively. This result showed an increase in subjective well-being scores within the experimental group after mindfulness-based Islamic spiritual therapy. The spiritual therapy was also used as an alternative psychotherapy to improve the subjective well-being of married women with infertility problems.

Abstract

The thesis is a student's final project that should complete so that it can be declared graduated from education. Students must have the ability to assume intellectual responsibility in completing the thesis. It is as part of the academic should be finished by students. For students, the completion of the thesis is often considered a heavy task and burden. Assignment responsibilities affect the condition of students, causing depression, and even ending in death. The study aimed to determine the effect of Hypno-therapy in reducing depression in students of the Faculty of Engineering in Yogyakarta who are preparing a thesis. The subjects in this study were seven engineering students who had moderate depression category. The method used is an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument used the BDI II depression scale (Beck Depression Inventory). The analysis using t-test (t-test) with Paired Sample T-test had used to determine the difference in scores before and after the intervention whose have equipped with descriptive analysis. If a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), it means there is a different level of depression between the scores of subjects before and after being given Hypno-therapy. Based on the explanation above, it had could be concluded that Hypno-therapy could reduce depression in engineering students who are writing a thesis.

Abstract

The psychological climate that occurs in a group becomes an important external factor that influences the success of the group's performance. The dimensions of the group's psychological climate include: (1) the leader’s caring; (2) cohesivity; (3) autonomy; and (4) pressure. This study purposes to examine the influence of the group's psychological climate, especially the leader's caring dimension, which can be interpreted as a form of leadership on group performance. This research was conducted with experiments to empirically test the influence of psychological climate on the group decision-making performance. The experimental design used was a post-treatment measurement design with a (2 x 2 x 2 factorial design which consisted of three independent variables with two levels:  leadership: (caring vs uncaring),; autonomy:(autonomous vs non-autonomous),; and pressure: (without time pressure vs with time pressure) using random assignment in group division. The results revealed that the interaction effect of group psychological climate had an effect of 10.3% (F = 3.126; p <0.05; ç2 = 0.103) on group decision-making performance. The influence of the leader's climate, which could also mean the process of leadership in the group gave an effect of 36.7% (F = 15.771; p < 0.01; ç2 = 0.367). on group decision-making performance. This indicated that the group performance was determined more by internal factors within the group, which were the psychological climates of the group, than external factors
