Abstract

Akun Instagram @arabiyahtalks menarik perhatian dengan bio "membantu Anda berbicara bahasa Arab dengan mudah" dan hampir 200.000 pengikut. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya menyebutkan bahwa akun ini mampu memotivasi pembelajar bahasa Arab untuk lebih aktif dan kreatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi isi unggahan pada akun @arabiyahtalks yang dianggap sebagai media pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang mudah dan menyenangkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis isi. Data penelitian berupa unggahan dari bulan Agustus 2023 hingga Agustus 2024. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan dokumentasi. Tahapan analisis meliputi identifikasi data, klasifikasi data, deskripsi data, dan interpretasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konten pembelajaran bahasa Arab di akun @arabiyahtalks sangat bervariasi. Variasi konten tersebut meliputi (1) ungkapan bahasa Arab, (2) muhadatsah, (3) mufradat, (4) motivasi, (5) kuis, (6) pelafalan, (7) tata bahasa, (8) uslub, (9) murodifat, dan (10) teknik penerjemahan. Postingan terbanyak berasal dari kategori ungkapan bahasa Arab, diikuti oleh muhadatsah dan mufradat. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa akun ini memiliki urutan unggahan yang bergantian, sehingga terkesan variatif dan tidak monoton.

Abstract

This study investigates the differing interpretations and applications of the hadith prohibiting women from traveling without a maḥram in Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Through a comparative analysis grounded in historical, legal, and socio-cultural contexts, the research reveals that Saudi Arabia traditionally applies the hadith in a strict, textualist manner, rooted in the Ḥanbalī legal tradition and guardianship system. Indonesia, influenced by pluralistic scholarship and social realities, adopts a more flexible, contextualist approach through ijtihād by religious organizations. Despite these differences, the study affirms that the original ruling remains valid: a woman traveling without a maḥram is impermissible (ḥarām) unless in rare, necessity-based exceptions. The presence of a maḥram is not merely ideal but a critical safeguard upheld throughout Islamic legal history to protect women’s dignity (ʿirḍ) and safety (nafs). In modern contexts where security may seem assured, Muslim women must still prioritize obedience to Allah and His Messenger, over social convenience or personal autonomy. Modern adaptations must not override divine directives. Thus, the hadith's relevance continues, and contextual flexibility must remain within the bounds of Sharīʿah—aimed at upholding the protective purpose of Islamic law rather than promoting unrestricted freedom.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: 1) the advantages of the Instagram account @hayfa.academy as a medium for learning Arabic in speaking skills; 2) the views of students who want to be proficient in Arabic, who are also followers of the Instagram account @hayfa.academy on the effectiveness of its use to improve Arabic speaking skills. This research method is descriptive qualitative. This study involved 15 students who want to be proficient in Arabic. The data sources of this study include primary data from observation, interviews, and documentation, as well as secondary data from journals, books, and internet references. The collected data were validated using triangulation techniques that include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles et al. (2014) model with stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that: 1) the Instagram account @hayfa.academy as a medium for learning Arabic in speaking skills has advantages as a learning medium has advantages in profile, learning methods, features and content because it presents interesting visual and audio content, combines Fusha and Ammiyah languages, and offers interactive videos and pronunciation guides; 2) The majority of students feel more confident and fluent in speaking Arabic after using the Instagram account @hayfa.academy.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how first-year students experience and engage in Arabic vocabulary learning through Instagram at an International Open University. Using a qualitative descriptive–exploratory design, the study focuses on students lived learning experiences rather than merely examining learning outcomes or media effectiveness. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with ten first-semester students and complemented by observations of their Instagram learning activities. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of perception, engagement, and meaning construction in students’ learning experiences. The findings reveal three interrelated dimensions of Instagram-based vocabulary learning. First, students perceive Instagram as a contextual and relevant learning space that provides practical vocabulary connected to everyday communication. Second, the learning process is experienced as light, visual, and motivating due to the platform’s multimodal content, which facilitates comprehension and reduces learning pressure. Third, students demonstrate selective and autonomous participation, primarily by viewing and saving posts rather than actively interacting. The study highlights that meaningful digital vocabulary learning is shaped not only by platform features but also by contextual relevance, affective experience, and learner autonomy, positioning Instagram as a complementary informal learning space that supports formal Arabic language instruction in higher education

Abstract

This study examines the concept of women’s social autonomy in QS. At-Taubah [9]:71 through a comparative analysis of classical and contemporary Qur’anic exegesis. The verse establishes a framework of mutual responsibility between believing men and women through the concept of wilāyah and the shared obligation of amr ma‘rūf wa nahy munkar. This study employs a qualitative library-based approach grounded in thematic interpretation and comparative-interpretative analysis. The analysis focuses on selected classical exegetes, including al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr, and al-Qurṭubī, alongside contemporary interpretations by M. Quraish Shihab and Nasaruddin Umar. The findings show that classical tafsir consistently affirms the equality of moral and spiritual responsibility between men and women, although it does not extensively elaborate the social implications of this principle. Contemporary interpretations build on this foundation by articulating wilāyah as a non-hierarchical relational concept that supports women’s participation in social and religious life. The comparison indicates continuity in core ethical principles alongside a shift in interpretive emphasis toward social engagement. This study proposes a conceptual formulation of women’s social autonomy derived from the internal structure of the verse, integrating theological, social, and ethical dimensions. The analysis demonstrates that women’s social autonomy is grounded in Qur’anic ethics rather than external constructs, and provides a framework for understanding women’s participation in contemporary Muslim societies, particularly in Indonesia. The study contributes to Qur’anic studies by offering a systematic conceptualization of social autonomy based on comparative tafsir and by highlighting the relevance of Qur’anic ethical principles for ongoing discussions of gender and social responsibility.

Abstract

Arabic is the primary language of Islamic sources; therefore, mastering it is essential for students in Islamic schools. However, Arabic language learning, particularly grammatical rules (nahwu and sharf), is often perceived as difficult due to its complex and theoretical presentation. This study aims to analyze the implementation and effectiveness of the simplified Arabic grammar method derived from Durusullugah Volume 1 by Dr. V. Abdur Rahim in improving the understanding of ninth-grade female students at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Banjarmasin.This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest model. The research subjects were ninth-grade female students at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques included learning achievement tests (pretest and posttest), student response questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed by comparing students’ learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the simplified grammar method.The results indicate that the application of the simplified Arabic grammar method from Durusullugah Volume 1 significantly improved students’ understanding of Arabic grammar. Furthermore, students showed positive responses toward the method, as the material was presented in a simpler, clearer, and more practical manner. Therefore, the simplified grammar method can be considered an effective alternative approach for enhancing Arabic grammar comprehension at the junior high school level.
