Abstract

This research was aimed at developing VAKISITE (Visual Auditory kinaesthetic Listening Website) to maximize students learning in the listening subject. The research used educational R&D Thus, this research used CAR (Classroom Action Research) research design to know the efficacy of the product in field testing step. The research procedures included needs analysis, studying education theories, developing the educational product, validating the product to experts, and field-testing. The research involved the second semester students of English Language Education Department of STKIP PGRI Trenggalek in 2022/2023 academic year as subject. The research instruments were field notes, questionnaires, and test. The field notes data was analysed in qualitative way, while questionnaire and test data was analysed in quantitative way.  The product has been developed through five steps of development.  Based  on  the  result  of  students'  needs, its score  was  80%, it’s showed that listening learning digital media were needed.  Meanwhile, the result of field testing the product of the students showed a percentage of 86%, 1723 scores of students’ feedback. It indicates that, the respondent agree that the product of this research was good and feasible to use as media in learning listening subject.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a creative supplement book, MIMA English Book, for supplementing student learning material. Implementing a mind map helps summarize learning material and stimulate the students to have a better understanding of learning English subject. This study uses research and development methods using a quasi-experimental research design. The population of this study was students of class X, SMA Negeri 2 Trenggalek, especially in class X MIPA 1 which consisted of 33 students. Methods of data collection using interviews, questionnaires, observations, and tests. From the results of research that researchers have carried out, it was found that 1) The MIMA English Book was developed according to the student needs questionnaire and the results of interviews, 2) Feasibility validation which showed that the MIMA English Book presented materials and media that deserved to be tested, 3) Positive feedback from students against the MIMA English Book, and 4) The results of the t-test showed that there was a significant effect of the use of the MIMA English Book on students' learning in English. In conclusion, the MIMA English Book is an effective learning medium for supplementing student learning material in learning English.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop DIVISITE (Discovery Listening Website) and facilitate students’ learning of the listening subject. The design of this research was educational R&D. The subjects of this study were the second-semester English Department students of STKIP PGRI Trenggalek for the academic year 2020/2021. The research procedure included needs analysis, studying education theories, developing the educational product, validating the product to experts, and field-testing. By using the website and combining it with the three stages in the Discovery Listening technique, it increased students' learning motivation and comprehension toward listening material. It was seen from the results of pre-motivation which obtained a score of 1051 (almost disagree). This implied that respondents rarely planned listening learning activities. Then, the results of the post-motivation questionnaire obtained a score of 1810 (almost agree). Thus, there was an increase related to students' learning motivation in listening by using the Discovery Listening Website. In conclusion, this research successfully developed DIVISITE (Discovery Listening Website) and facilitated students’ learning in listening. Furthermore, this research was able to achieve the research objectives, namely DIVISITE (Discovery Listening Website), to facilitate students learning in the listening subject.
