Abstract

The yellow book is a source of Islamic knowledge that is very important in Islamic religious education, such as in the fields of interpretation, hadith, fiqh, and tasawuf. In the world of Islamic education, Islamic boarding schools are one of the formal education that uses the book as the main reference in finding the material taught. This study aims to find out how students of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Masters program at FITK UIN North Sumatra interact with the yellow book. The problems studied are regarding students' understanding of classical sentences, the teaching methods used, and the challenges they face in mastering the yellow book. This study uses qualitative methods, and its analysis techniques are interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the study are a description of the role of the yellow book in Islamic higher education and its contribution to the development of more effective teaching methods. Therefore, it is highly recommended for us to know and understand the contents and meaning of the yellow book, as well as to know the role of the yellow book in the world of education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of the social environment in shaping school culture. The social environment, including the surrounding community, schools, and families, plays a crucial role in shaping students' identity and character. Specifically, the culture that exists in society influences the values embraced by students, such as habits, celebrations, and social interactions. This influence is not limited to learning aspects but also affects students' attitudes and behaviors. In the context of an advancing globalization, local cultural values should be preserved and introduced through education so that students remain connected to the nation's cultural roots. The findings of this research show that the synergy between schools, families, and communities is essential in creating a positive and character-building school culture. This research is expected to contribute to the development of educational policies that prioritize the role of society in shaping students' character. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali peran lingkungan sosial masyarakat dalam membentuk kebudayaan sekolah. Lingkungan sosial, yang mencakup masyarakat sekitar, sekolah, dan keluarga, memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk identitas dan karakter siswa. Secara khusus, budaya yang hidup dalam masyarakat dapat memengaruhi nilai-nilai yang dianut oleh siswa, baik dalam bentuk kebiasaan, perayaan, maupun interaksi sosial. Pengaruh ini tidak hanya terbatas pada aspek pembelajaran, tetapi juga pada pembentukan sikap dan perilaku siswa. Dalam konteks globalisasi yang semakin maju, nilai-nilai budaya lokal harus dipertahankan dan diperkenalkan melalui pendidikan agar siswa tetap terhubung dengan akar budaya bangsa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sinergi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat sangat penting dalam menciptakan kebudayaan sekolah yang positif dan berkarakter. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan kebijakan pendidikan yang mengedepankan peran masyarakat dalam pembentukan karakter siswa.
