Abstract

The yellow book is a source of Islamic knowledge that is very important in Islamic religious education, such as in the fields of interpretation, hadith, fiqh, and tasawuf. In the world of Islamic education, Islamic boarding schools are one of the formal education that uses the book as the main reference in finding the material taught. This study aims to find out how students of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Masters program at FITK UIN North Sumatra interact with the yellow book. The problems studied are regarding students' understanding of classical sentences, the teaching methods used, and the challenges they face in mastering the yellow book. This study uses qualitative methods, and its analysis techniques are interviews, observations and documentation. The results of the study are a description of the role of the yellow book in Islamic higher education and its contribution to the development of more effective teaching methods. Therefore, it is highly recommended for us to know and understand the contents and meaning of the yellow book, as well as to know the role of the yellow book in the world of education.

Abstract

Indonesia is still experiencing a character crisis in its young generation, especially among Islamic teenagers. Whereas Islamic character that is instilled in the midst of society will form a pattern of justice and comfort in life. This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the contribution of ROHIS in shaping Islamic student character. The research used a qualitative method by conducting semi-structured interviews. The research shows the results that ROHIS has a significant contribution in instilling the character of discipline in prayer, empathy, and the character of ukhuwah or brotherhood. Therefore, it is important for every individual, whether parents, students, teachers, or schools to pay more attention to the character conditions among teenagers today and try to instill Islamic character through positive activities, in order to give birth to a healthy and spiritually intelligent generation. Indonesia masih mengalami krisis karakter pada generasi mudanya, terutama pada kalangan remaja Islam. Padahal karakter Islami yang ditanamkan di tengah-tengah masyarakat akan membentuk pola keadilan dan kenyamanan dalam kehidupan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang kontribusi ROHIS dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang Islami. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara semi-terstruktur. Penelitian menunjukkan hasil bahwa ROHIS memiliki kontribusi signifikan dalam menanamkan karakter disiplin dalam shalat, empati, dan karakter ukhuwah atau persaudaraan. Maka dari itu, penting bagi setiap individu, baik orang tua, siswa, guru, ataupun pihak sekolah untuk lebih memperhatikan kondisi karakter di kalangan remaja saat ini dan berupaya menanamkan karakter Islami melalui kegiatan-kegiatan positif, guna melahirkan generasi yang sehat dan cerdas secara spiritual.
