Social disparity frequently emerges as a topic highlighted in mass media, as exemplified by the film “Dua Hati Biru”. Disparities in social, economic, access to education and healthcare resources are challenges encountered by many countries, including Indonesia. As a continuation of the film Two Blue Stripes, “Dua Hati Biru” narrates the story and obstacles faced by Bima and Dara within their household, which originate from the disparities and differences in social backgrounds. This study aims to reveal how the film “Dua Hati Biru” represents social disparity through signs and to explore the meanings behind these signs. The theoretical framework utilized in this research includes mass communication, mass media, film, Roland Barthes’ semiotics, representation and social disparity. This study uses descriptive qualitative approach with Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis method that’s categorized into denotation, connotation and myth. The subject of this research is the film itself, while the object consists of signs representing social disparity. The findings indicate that “Dua Hati Biru” portrays the reality of social disparity and class differences through visual elements and dialogues, such as the type of vehicles used, education, occupation and perspective on child’s education and parenting. Isu kesenjangan sosial kerap menjadi topik yang diangkat dalam media massa, seperti film berjudul “Dua Hati Biru”. Kesenjangan dalam sosial, ekonomi, akses terhadap pendidikan dan kesehatan merupakan masalah yang dihadapi banyak negara seperti Indonesia. Sebagai kelanjutan dari film “Dua Garis Biru”, film “Dua Hati Biru” menceritakan kisah dan tantangan yang dihadapi dalam rumah tangga Bima dan Dara yang disebabkan dari kesenjangan dan perbedaan latar belakang sosial antara kedua karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan bagaimana film “Dua Hati Biru” merepresentasikan isu kesenjangan sosial melalui tanda-tanda dan mengeksplorasi makna di balik tanda-tanda tersebut. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa komunikasi massa, media massa, film, semiotika Roland Barthes, representasi dan kesenjangan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode penelitian analisis semiotika Roland Barthes yang mencakup denotasi, konotasi dan mitos. Subjek penelitian adalah film “Dua Hati Biru” dan objek penelitian berupa tanda-tanda yang merepresentasikan kesenjangan sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa film “Dua Hati Biru” menampilkan realitas kesenjangan dan perbedaan kelas sosial melalui elemen-elemen visual dan dialog seperti jenis kendaraan, pendidikan, pekerjaan, serta pandangan terhadap pendidikan dan pola asuh anak.
