Abstract

The proliferation of social media has driven significant changes in digital marketing strategies, particularly through the utilization of short-form videos on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Short-form videos are considered more effective in capturing the attention of modern audiences who prioritize speed of consumption and emotional engagement. This research aims to analyze how the use of short-form videos can increase brand engagement and visibility, as well as identify the key success factors of content on the three platforms. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews with brand social media managers and observation of content performance on each platform. The results showed that content based on emotional storytelling, interactive elements, and the use of trending audio consistently increased engagement rates and brand visibility. TikTok showed the highest engagement rate, while Instagram Reels excelled in increasing visibility, and YouTube Shorts were effective in converting new followers. The success of the content is greatly influenced by understanding the characteristics of each platform's algorithm, authenticity of the narrative, and adapting to dynamic social trends. This study concludes that short-form content creation strategies need to integrate emotional, entertainment, informational, and algorithmic adaptation aspects to achieve maximum effectiveness. The practical implication of this research is the need for a cross-platform content approach that is adaptive and responsive to changes in digital audience behavior.

Abstract

This study examines the compliance of multinational companies with the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) regulations in Indonesia and the factors contributing to violations. Although UMR is designed to protect workers' welfare, many companies still pay below the established standards. A qualitative research method was employed to collect data through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that UMR violations occur across various industrial sectors, with violation rates ranging from 10% to 20%. Factors contributing to these violations include a lack of oversight, ineffective law enforcement, and legal uncertainties related to regulations that vary between regions. The research also identifies that UMR violations significantly impact workers' welfare, including difficulties in meeting basic needs and increased stress due to financial uncertainty. To enhance compliance, the study recommends improving oversight and law enforcement, harmonizing UMR standards across regions, and developing an anonymous complaint system for workers. These findings are expected to provide insights for policymakers, company management, and workers to improve the implementation of UMR regulations and enhance workers' welfare in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article explores ideological representation in Eka Kurniawan’s short story collection Corat-coret di Toilet using Antonio Gramsci’s theory of hegemony. The study aims to examine how dominant and subaltern ideologies are contested and negotiated within the selected stories. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the research focuses on four short stories that exhibit significant ideological formations: "Doodling in the Toilet," "The Beauty Who Can’t Go Out at Night," "Peter Pan," and "The Capture of the Little Bread Thief." The findings reveal the presence of dominant ideologies such as idealism, feudalism, and capitalism, while the subaltern ideologies attempting negotiation include democracy, humanism, liberalism, and nationalism. Each story presents ideological resistance, yet the talks ultimately fail due to the persistence of dominant power. In Gramscian terms, the hegemony depicted in these narratives aligns with minimal hegemony, where consensus between rulers and the ruled is absent. The study also concludes that Eka Kurniawan, as an organic intellectual, fails to create a transformative ideological shift. Instead, the stories illustrate ongoing struggles without resolution. This research contributes to the understanding of literature as a site of ideological conflict and suggests that future studies examine other dimensions of Gramsci’s hegemony within Indonesian literary texts.

Abstract

The global COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of remote work policies in various countries, including developing countries such as Indonesia. This policy has a significant impact on labor productivity patterns and worker welfare, especially in sectors that can adapt to digital technology. However, the long-term impact of remote work on productivity and well-being in developing countries is still a debate that requires empirical evidence. This study aims to estimate the impact of remote work policies on labor productivity and welfare improvement in Indonesia. This study uses econometric methods with panel data analysis from the national labor force survey and relevant secondary data, incorporating a fixed-effects model to control for unobserved variables that may affect worker productivity and welfare. Data was collected from several key economic sectors during the period before and after the widespread adoption of remote work. The results of the study show that remote work policies have a significant positive impact on productivity in the information and communication technology sector, while the traditional sector shows mixed results. The improvement in worker welfare was recorded mainly in the aspect of work-life balance, as well as the reduction of travel time and costs. These findings highlight the importance of policies that support digital infrastructure and skills development to optimize the benefits of remote work in Indonesia.
