Abstract

Abstract The story of Noah's Ark is one of the most extensively studied historical narratives by researchers. Available literature remarkably envelops this tale, making it a phenomenal account. However, some texts conclude the narrative of Noah's Ark as soon as the great flood subsides. This has sparked significant curiosity among many. Therefore, this research aims to explore and analyze Noah's condition after the ark landed, what transpired after the great flood ended, who was on board the vessel, whether any humans survived outside Noah's Ark. These points form the core discussion and distinguish this study from previous research. The methodology employed in this study is a literature review, involving in-depth reading and analysis of the events surrounding Noah's Ark, Noah's descendants, and their subsequent dispersion. The findings of this research indicate that Noah's descendants spread across three major continents, becoming the pivotal transition point for civilization from the era of Adam. Keywords: Ark; Civilization; Noah; Transmission.   Abstrak Kisah Bahtera Nuh adalah salah satu cerita sejarah yang paling banyak dikaji oleh para peneliti. Literatur yang tersedia membungkus kisah ini dengan cara yang sangat menakjubkan, menjadikannya salah satu narasi fenomenal. Beberapa literatur hanya mengakhiri penceritaan Bahtera Nuh sampai air bah yang besar surut. Hal ini menimbulkan rasa ingin tahu yang besar bagi sebagian orang. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplor dan menganalisis bagaimana keadaan Nuh setelah bahtera mendarat, apa yang terjadi setelah air bah besar berakhir, siapa saja yang berada di dalam kapal, dan apakah ada manusia yang selamat di luar Bahtera Nuh, menjadi pokok bahasan sekaligus menjadi pembeda dari penelitian sebelumnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian Pustaka, yaitu dengan membaca dan menganalisis peristiwa bahtera Nuh, keturunan Nuh dan penyebaran keturunan Nuh secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyebaran keturunan Nuh menyebar ke tiga benua besar dan menjadi kunci transisi peradaban dari peradaban Adam. Kata Kunci: Bahtera; Nuh; Peradaban; Penyebaran.

Abstract

Abstract This study examines the integration between natural sciences and the science of tawḥīd in al-Jawāhir fī Tafsīr al-Qur’ān al-Karīm, the seminal Qur’anic exegesis of Imam Tantawi Jauhari. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this paper explores how Jauhari constructs an epistemological relationship between natural phenomena (āyāt kauniyyah) and divine unity (tawḥīd). The findings reveal that Jauhari views the universe as an interconnected and harmonious system (waḥdāniyyat al-‘ālam), reflecting the oneness and wisdom of the Creator (waḥdāniyyat al-wujūd). He asserts that observing and reflecting upon the universe constitutes a form of intellectual devotion that strengthens faith and deepens spiritual awareness of God’s majesty. Through his interpretive method, Jauhari not only bridges the Qur’an and modern science but also offers an integrative paradigm that unites reason, revelation, and the cosmic order within a single framework of tawḥīd. This study concludes that al-Jawāhir represents an epistemological model of Islamic knowledge, positioning scientific inquiry as a pathway to a deeper understanding of the Divine. Abstract

Abstract This paper examines the problem of repetition in classical ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān studies and its implications for the development of contemporary scholarship. Repetition rooted in authoritative works such as al-Burhān by al-Zarkashī and al-Itqān by al-Suyūṭī initially functioned as a mechanism of knowledge preservation. However, in later developments, uncritical repetition gave rise to epistemological stagnation and restricted the space for ijtihād. The problem became more complex with the sacralization of classical works, which led academic discourse into the canonization of old narratives. This study employs a qualitative library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach to analyze both classical and contemporary literature. The analysis reveals that repetition in ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān has contributed to the creation of an academic comfort zone, where curricula and discourses remain focused on old issues without the courage to adapt to modern challenges. The paper concludes that revitalizing ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān requires methodological courage to break free from the cycle of repetition. It highlights the contemporary approach of Ma‘na Cum Maghza as a constructive offer to restore ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān as a dynamic, critical, and relevant discipline for contemporary human concerns. Keywords: ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān; Repetition; Revitalization; Sacralization; Stagnation.   Abstrak Artikel ini mengkaji persoalan pengulangan dalam kajian ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān klasik serta implikasinya terhadap perkembangan khazanah keilmuan kontemporer. Pengulangan yang berakar pada karya otoritatif seperti al-Burhān karya al-Zarkashī dan al-Itqān karya al-Suyūṭī awalnya berfungsi sebagai mekanisme pelestarian pengetahuan. Namun, dalam perkembangan selanjutnya, pengulangan yang tidak kritis melahirkan stagnasi epistemologis dan mempersempit ruang ijtihād. Persoalan kian kompleks dengan menguatnya sakralisasi terhadap karya klasik, yang menjerumuskan wacana keilmuan ke dalam kanonisasi narasi lama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kepustakaan kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis untuk menganalisis literatur klasik dan kontemporer. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengulangan dalam ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān telah berkontribusi pada terciptanya zona nyaman akademik, di mana kurikulum dan wacana masih berkutat pada persoalan-persoalan lama tanpa keberanian untuk beradaptasi dengan tantangan kekinian. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa revitalisasi ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān memerlukan keberanian metodologis untuk keluar dari siklus pengulangan. Pendekatan kontemporer Ma‘na Cum Maghza disoroti sebagai tawaran konstruktif untuk mengembalikan ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān sebagai disiplin ilmu yang dinamis, kritis, dan relevan dengan keprihatinan manusia masa kini. Kata Kunci: Pengulangan; Revitalisasi; Sakralisasi; Stagnasi; ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān.
