Abstract

Abstract

One effective approach to bridge abstract mathematical concepts with real-life situations is Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the RME model assisted by interactive videos in improving the motivation and mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at one of SDN in Garut. The research employed a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental design and a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects consisted of 60 students, divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected through written tests and analyzed statistically using descriptive statistics and Independent Sample T-Test. Prior to implementation, students’ learning motivation in the experimental class was 54.9%, which increased to 81.1% after the treatment. The average learning outcomes improved from 69.73 to 87.00 in the experimental class, while the control class increased only from 69.67 to 74.60. These results indicate that the implementation of RME assisted by interactive videos has a significant effect on enhancing students’ motivation and learning outcomes. The study recommends utilizing educational technology to create more engaging, interactive, and effective learning experiences.

Abstract

General Background: The integration of mobile-based gamification tools in elementary education has emerged as a significant trend to enhance learning engagement and outcomes. Specific Background: Quizizz Mobile, as a gamified learning platform, offers interactive features such as real-time feedback and adjustable quiz settings that align with student-centered learning. Knowledge Gap: Despite the growing use of digital quizzes, limited empirical evidence exists on the effectiveness of Quizizz Mobile specifically in the context of IPAS (Science and Social Studies) education at the Indonesian elementary level. Aims: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Quizizz Mobile in improving students’ motivation and cognitive learning outcomes compared to conventional teaching methods. Results: A quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-tests showed a statistically significant increase in learning outcomes (∆ = 17.86) and motivation in the experimental group using Quizizz Mobile, as opposed to minimal gains in the control group. Novelty: The study highlights the unique combination of mobile-first design and gamification in supporting the Merdeka Curriculum, providing scalable data analytics and learner autonomy. Implications: The findings support the integration of mobile gamified tools in primary education, offering practical insights for educators to enhance motivation and achievement through adaptive, engaging digital learning environments.Highlight : Quizizz Mobile significantly improved students' learning outcomes compared to traditional methods. Gamification features (competition, instant feedback) boosted students' intrinsic motivation. The study supports integrating mobile-based platforms into elementary school IPAS curriculum. Abstract

Background: Accounting education in secondary schools often faces low student engagement and limited competence. Specific background: Traditional teaching tends to be passive, while interactive methods such as peer tutoring and digital worksheets are underexplored in accounting. Knowledge gap: Few studies have combined peer tutoring with interactive platforms like Liveworksheets for this subject. Aims: This study investigates the role of peer tutoring supported by Liveworksheets in fostering student activity and competence in accounting. Results: A quantitative experimental design with 71 participants showed significant increases in learning activity, supported by paired sample t-tests and N-Gain scores. Posttest results revealed higher achievement compared to pretest scores, with student feedback indicating strong positive responses to the digital integration. Novelty: This research demonstrates how combining peer tutoring with interactive digital worksheets promotes both social collaboration and autonomous practice in accounting classrooms. Implications: The findings suggest that such blended approaches can be applied not only in accounting but also in other theoretical subjects to enrich active learning and improve student competence. Highlights Student activity improved after peer tutoring combined with digital worksheets Accounting competence increased significantly based on posttest and N-Gain results Positive student feedback confirmed the interactive and collaborative learning process Keywords: Peer Tutoring, Liveworksheets, Student Activity, Accounting Learning, Student Competence
