Abstract

Self-awareness is an important skill that adolescents need to have to understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in the process of forming their identity. This study was motivated by the phenomenon of students who still have difficulty in recognizing and evaluating themselves optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of self-awareness in grade XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach with a sample of 80 students selected by simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out using a self-awareness scale based on three aspects: emotional awareness, accurate self-assessment, and self-confidence. The results showed that the majority of students had a level of self-awareness in the moderate category of 35%, followed by the low category of 29%, high 19%, very high 10%, and very low 8%. The three aspects measured also showed that most students were in the moderate category. These findings indicate that students already have basic abilities in recognizing themselves, but still need further development to achieve an optimal level of self-awareness in supporting their personal and social development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a comparison of self-efficacy levels between male and female students at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in his ability to organize and regulate an action needed to achieve certain goals. The research method used is quantitative with a comparative descriptive approach. The sample in this study amounted to 80 grade XI students, consisting of 36 male students and 44 female students selected using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The data collection instrument is a Likert scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the mean value of self-efficacy of female students (68.22) was slightly higher than male students (66.88), there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.271 > α = 0.05). Thus, gender is not the only factor that can significantly affect the level of self-efficacy of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya students.

Abstract

The Covid-19 era has brought new habits for students, one of which is taking work as a relaxing activity. This arises because of the comfort zone that was formed to entertain oneself in that era. However, this has negative effects on students' academic aspects, for example academic procrastination. Academic procrastination is influenced by many factors, one of which is emotional regulation. A preliminary study conducted with student interviews at SMAN 10 Palembang showed that students can regulate emotions but they still carry out academic procrastination. This research was carried out using a quantitative correlational model method because it wanted to examine whether or not there was a relationship between emotional regulation and students' academic procrastination and was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 85 students as a sample. The results obtained in this research are the most data at the level of emotional regulation 72% and academic procrastination 69%, which is in the "medium" category and produces -0.057 as a Spearman rank correlation value which shows that there is a very weak and unidirectional relationship between emotional regulation and Academic procrastination in class.
