Abstract

This research aims to develop a web-based learning media using Google Sites that is oriented to Problem Based Learning (PBL) with a multilevel representation approach to improve students' science process skills in acid-based materials. This research is development research (R&D) that focuses on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of media. Data collection techniques include validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, observation sheets, and pretest - post-test assessments. The results of validation by experts show that the developed media is valid with a ≥ mode score of 4. The practicality of the media is shown through the results of the student response questionnaire which obtained an average score of 95.2% and the observation of student activities which reached 95.6%, both of which are categorized as very good. The effectiveness of the media is proven through a statistical test that compares pretest and posttest scores, which show significant differences (sig. value = 0.000) in both science process skills and concept understanding. Thus, this Google Sites-based learning media is valid, practical, and effectively used in chemistry learning to improve students' science process skills.
