Abstract

Stunting is a serious issue that affects early childhood development and demands educators' attention in providing appropriate preventive education. Ironically, the limited availability of effective educational media for stunting prevention hinders the learning process. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of an educational video based on movement and song activities as a preventive effort against stunting in early childhood. This research employed a research and development (R&D) design involving 28 children as subjects. Data were collected through observation and structured interviews, and analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The findings indicate that the developed educational video effectively conveys health messages in an engaging and child-friendly manner. The content covers healthy living habits, nutritious food consumption, and regular sleep patterns, all demonstrated through songs and movements. Both children and teachers showed high enthusiasm after using the media consistently for two weeks. The study concludes that movement and song based educational videos are appropriate as a medium for stunting prevention education in early childhood. The implications of this study highlight the importance of developing creative, enjoyable, and behavior-oriented learning media to foster healthy habits from an early age. Further development is recommended to ensure the sustainability and broader applicability of this media in various educational contexts.

Abstract

This research was prompted by the low creativity of children at Kartika II.3 Kindergarten in Palembang due to monotonous conventional learning. The study aims to enhance the creative potential of children aged 5-6 through the method.discovery learningassisted by exploratory natural materials media. Using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach in two cycles, the study involved 15 children as subjects. Data were analyzed through systematic observation of the originality of students' ideas and work. The findings showed a significant surge in the subjects' creative capacity: from 6.64% in the initial stage, increasing to 13,13% in Cycle I, and reaching 80% in Cycle II in the Very Well Developed (BSB) category. These results confirm that the synergy of the independent discovery method and environmental media effectively optimizes divergent thinking and learning independence, while providing strategic implications for pedagogical innovation in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of colour corrugated paper media on the fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK IT Al-Kahfi Indralaya. The research method used in this study is a quantitative Pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design. While the data collection technique uses observation (Checklist sheet). The sample selection in this study used a cluster random sampling technique, namely 16 children aged 5-6 years consisting of 6 boys and 10 girls. The results of data analysis on the normality test that has been carried out show that the data is normally distributed because x² count ≤ x² table, namely x² count = 1.38 and x² table = 24.96 then from the t-test calculation it is obtained that t count = 5.01 and t table = 1.753. This shows that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, namely t count ≥ t table (5.01 ≥ 1.753). Therefore, the test results can be concluded that colour corrugated paper media has an effect on the fine motor skills of 5-6 year old children at Tk IT Al-Kahfi Indralaya.

Abstract

This study aims to improve eye-hand coordination in children aged 4-5 years through the traditional game of congklak. The results of initial observations indicate that the child's eye-hand coordination ability is still not balanced, during sensory activities such as holding writing tools, and adjusting eye and hand movements, then because it is still early school and still needs introduction and guidance on writing tools and how to use them. This study uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach in two cycles, involving 16 children as subjects. Data were collected through observation using checklist sheets, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in the child's eye-hand coordination ability which initially reached 6.25%, increased to 12.5% in the first cycle of action, and in the second cycle increased to 56.25% in the Very Good Development (BSB) category. The results of the study above can be concluded that through the traditional game of congklak can improve children's eye-hand coordination ability, encourage children's social interaction, and train children's independence.
