Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning outcomes on students' noble character (akhlak mahmudah) at MTs Al-Umm Medan Marelan. Using a quantitative correlational approach, the research involved 60 students as the sample. Data were collected through tests to measure IRE learning outcomes and questionnaires to assess students’ moral behavior. The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between IRE achievement and the development of akhlak mahmudah. The regression analysis revealed that 32.6% of the variation in students’ moral behavior is influenced by their IRE learning outcomes. This finding indicates that while religious education contributes to character development, other external factors such as family environment, peer influence, and social context also play a role. The study highlights the importance of integrating moral values into the IRE curriculum through affective learning, religious habituation, and teacher role modeling. It is recommended that schools adopt a holistic educational approach to strengthen both intellectual and moral dimensions of students' development.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the integration of Qur’an memorization (Tahfiz Al-Qur’an) into the school curriculum, identify the challenges encountered, and formulate optimization strategies to improve academic achievement in the Qur’an Hadith subject at MIS Al-Hikmah Namorambe. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the principal, Tahfiz teachers, and fifth-grade students. The findings reveal that the integration of Tahfiz Al-Qur’an is implemented through the structured scheduling of memorization programs within the curriculum, linking memorization materials to Qur’an Hadith lessons, applying a gradual learning method, conducting regular muraja’ah (revision), and carrying out periodic assessments. The challenges identified include a heavy school workload, inappropriate scheduling, difficulties in memorizing long verses, a less conducive classroom atmosphere, and limited support from the home environment. Recommended optimization strategies include scheduling at optimal times, applying chunking and spaced repetition methods, grouping students according to ability, creating a conducive classroom environment, and involving parents in muraja’ah activities at home. In conclusion, the integration of Tahfiz Al-Qur’an can enhance academic achievement in the Qur’an Hadith subject if implemented with careful planning, adaptive methods, and adequate support from the learning environment
