Abstract

The development of information technology requires students majoring in informatics engineering to master web programming as one of the core competencies of the study program. Variations in students' ability to understand the material are reflected in significant differences in grades, so an objective analysis approach is needed to determine the ability of students. This study aims to group students based on academic grades in Web Programming courses using the K-Means algorithm. The data analyzed includes 1-3 assignment grades, attendance, UTS, and UAS from 32 students in the Department of Informatics Engineering, University of Papua. The research stages include preprocessing, data normalization, and clustering process using Orange Data Mining tools. Determination of the optimal number of clusters is done using the Silhouette Score method, and the best results are obtained at K = 4 with a Silhouette Score value of 0.513 which indicates a good cluster structure. The clustering results show that Cluster 1 has the highest score with a final score ranging from 0.93-1 with an Excellent score category consisting of 8 students, Cluster 2 with a Poor score category consists of 10 students with a final score range of 0.23-0.61, then Cluster 3 with a Good score category consists of 10 students with a Final score of 0.78-0.87 and Cluster 4 with a Fair score category consists of 4 students with a score range of 0.64-0.75. The results of this study provide information about the distribution of student abilities and can be the basis for improving learning strategies in the future.

Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged the digitization of employee attendance systems, including at the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Manokwari which implements a fingerprint-based digital attendance application. Although it aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of attendance recording, this application still faces various obstacles, such as dependence on internet connection, less than optimal interface display, and compatibility issues with user devices. This study aims to evaluate the usability level of the BPS Manokwari digital attendance application using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. This method is used to measure aspects of learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction based on user experience. This study involved 35 respondents who were permanent employees of BPS Manokwari. Data was collected through SUS questionnaire, then analyzed using SPSS software. The evaluation results show that the digital attendance application obtained a score of 68.42 in SUS, which falls into the Marginal High category. Although this application has functioned to meet the needs of employees, there is still significant room for improvement to achieve higher usability quality, especially in the aspects of ease of use and interface appearance. Based on the results of the analysis, this research provides recommendations for improvement to increase efficiency and user comfort in accessing the application

Abstract

Manual boarding house searches are often a challenge for the community due to limited information, distance, and time. This study designed and developed a web-based boarding house search information system called Kos Logik, intended for the Manokwari Regency area. The system was built using the Laravel framework as the backend, Bootstrap for the frontend, MySQL as the database, and the Waterfall development method, which includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application involves three types of users: boarding house seekers, boarding house owners, and administrators. The main features include registration, login, location-based search, room details, favorites storage, booking, and reviews. Boarding house owners can add room data, manage facilities, monitor booking status, and view tenant data. Testing using the black box method showed that all features worked as expected. The results of this study are expected to provide an efficient and effective solution for searching and managing boarding houses in Manokwari Regency.

Abstract

Student dormitories play an important role in supporting smooth studies, especially for students who come from remote areas. Waropen Regency provides student dormitories in Manokwari Regency, but their management still faces various obstacles, such as manual recording, lack of administrative transparency, and difficulties in monitoring facilities. This research aims to develop a web-based dormitory information system that can improve the efficiency and accuracy of managing data on active, inactive, and alumni students, as well as facilitate the verification process for Study Plan Cards (KRS), which was previously done manually. The system also includes features for student complaints regarding dormitory facilities, scholarship data collection, inventory data, and report printing in PDF format. The development was carried out using modern technology based on React.js on the interface side, Express.js and Node.js on the server side, and MySQL  as a  relational  database.  The development results show that this system is capable of providing a responsive interface, supporting transparent administrative processes, and facilitating communication between students and administrators. Thus, this information system is considered effective in addressing the needs of student dormitory management in Waropen Regency in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the usability level of SIMUNIPA (University of Papua Information System) web application based on user experience using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. The evaluation was conducted using 60 respondents consisting of students and alumni of the Informatics Engineering Department. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative approach by distributing SUS questionnaires online and offline. The evaluation results show an average SUS score of 76.66 which is in the “Good” and Acceptable High category. This finding shows that in general the SIMUNIPA application is easy to use and provides a fairly good user experience. However, there are still some problems such as unclear navigation, inconsistent interface display, and system response speed. The questionnaire instrument has gone through validity and reliability tests with valid and reliable results. Recommendations were given for system improvement, including the addition of usage guides, improvement of navigation structure, and optimization of system performance.
