Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration between Qur’anic exegesis and molecular nutrition science, with a focus on carbohydrates as the main theme examined through the tafsir ilmi (scientific interpretation) approach. This research adopts a qualitative method based on a literature review, utilizing two primary sources: the Tafsir Ilmi published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Tafsir Al-Jawahir by Tantawi Jauhari. Both represent interpretive models that attempt to bridge divine revelation with contemporary scientific findings. Carbohydrates are essential nutrients in the biological life of living beings. They function as the primary source of energy, structural components of cells, and regulators of metabolism. Although not explicitly mentioned in the Qur’an, several verses imply references to food items such as grains, dates, grapes, and honey—all of which are sources of carbohydrates. Interpreting these verses through scientific and molecular nutrition perspectives provides contextual understanding regarding dietary ethics and nutritional balance in Islam. The findings indicate that the Tafsir Ilmi of the Ministry takes a deductive-confirmatory approach by linking Qur’anic verses to modern scientific theories, while Tafsir Al-Jawahir adopts a more philosophical and reflective style, emphasizing the order of nature as a manifestation of divine law. Both interpretations highlight the importance of carbohydrates in sustaining life and maintaining ecological balance. This study concludes that the integration of exegesis and science contributes to a rational understanding of revelation and is relevant in addressing contemporary issues such as healthy eating patterns and the prevention of metabolic diseases. This research reinforces the importance of interdisciplinary Qur’anic studies in meeting the current needs of the Muslim community.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the quality of worship of employees at Muhammadiyah Selogiri Hospital in accordance with the Muhammadiyah Tarjih Decisions Association. This activity was carried out in the form of Baitul Arqam activities held at the Pondok Sari 1 Hotel, Tawangmangu, Karanganyar, Central Java. This training focused on worship procedures such as prayer, fasting, zakat, as well as strengthening Muhammadiyah ideology so that employees are not only professional in their health care duties, but also become role models in religious practices in the workplace and community. The methods used included lectures, discussions, worship simulations, and self-reflection. This activity was attended by all ± 80 employees of Muhammadiyah Selogiri Hospital and guided by competent speakers in the field of Muhammadiyah tarjih. Evaluation was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests, observations of worship practices, and participant feedback as a basis for improving the development program in the future. The results of the community service program showed an increase in understanding and practice of correct worship according to tarjih, as well as the formation of a strong Islamic work culture in Muhammadiyah charitable efforts

Abstract

This study aims to map the development of waqf and legal studies indexed in the Scopus database in the period 2016-2025 with a bibliometric approach. The analysis was carried out to identify the main trends, patterns of collaboration between authors, distribution of publications based on institutional and country affiliations, and characteristics of journal sources that became publication media. The bibliometric method was applied by utilizing VOSviewer software for co-occurrence network visualization and Microsoft Excel for quantitative data processing and analysis. The results show that Indonesia (43.5%) and Malaysia (23.1%) are the countries with the highest research productivity in this field, with significant contributions from the United States (11.6%). The International Islamic University was recorded as the academic institution with the highest number of publications (15.4%), followed by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Universitas Padjajaran (13.5% each). From an individual perspective, publication patterns show a relatively even distribution, with 40% of researchers producing three publications and 60% of researchers producing two publications. Analysis of journal sources revealed that the three main journals served as publication platforms for 13.9% of the total articles analyzed. Temporal trends show a significant increase in research productivity, with the highest spike in 2024 (22 publications) and the most notable acceleration of research occurring in the period 2018-2021. These findings indicate significant developments in waqf studies, particularly in countries with predominantly Muslim populations, and point to a growing research ecosystem with a wider diversification of publication platform.
