Abstract

Forest rehabilitation is a strategic effort to maintain ecosystem sustainability and mitigate climate change. Jeruk Manis Village, located in Sikur Subdistrict, East Lombok Regency, is one of the areas with forest zones that have suffered significant degradation due to human activities and environmental pressures. This community service initiative aims to empower local communities in forest rehabilitation efforts through the application of geospatial technology as a tool for planning and monitoring. The activities were carried out using a participatory approach, including training in participatory mapping using Geographic Information System (GIS) applications, identification of critical lands, and replanting of degraded forest areas. The results of the activities showed increased community capacity in understanding the use of geospatial technology for forest area mapping, as well as greater collective awareness of the importance of forest conservation. In addition, the community was able to produce basic spatial maps that can serve as references for sustainable rehabilitation programs. The application of geospatial technology has proven effective in strengthening community involvement and enhancing efficiency in the rehabilitation process. It is hoped that this initiative can serve as a model for community empowerment that can be replicated in other areas with similar conditions. Collaboration between the community, village government, and the service team is the key to achieving inclusive and data-driven forest rehabilitation.

Abstract

Law enforcement against sexual violence is a crucial aspect of state responsibility in protecting human rights, particularly the rights of victims. Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes (UU TPKS) provides a more comprehensive legal framework for law enforcement officers, especially investigators, in handling sexual violence cases. This study aims to analyze the role of investigators in the enforcement of sexual violence laws within the jurisdiction of the Gerung Police Department, West Lombok. The research employs an empirical juridical approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and document studies. The findings reveal that investigators play a central role in the criminal investigation process, including receiving reports, gathering evidence, examining witnesses and victims, and submitting case files to the prosecutor's office. However, in practice, investigators face several challenges such as limited resources, lack of psychological support for victims, and prevailing socio-cultural pressures that often stigmatize victims. The UU TPKS serves as an essential guideline to strengthen the role of investigators, particularly in implementing a victim-centered approach that emphasizes the protection and restoration of victims' rights. Continuous training for investigators and cross-sectoral collaboration are needed to ensure the effective implementation of the UU TPKS at the regional level.

Abstract

Foreign investment plays a crucial role in the economic growth of tourist destinations by stimulating infrastructure development, generating employment, and promoting regional competitiveness. However, the influx of foreign capital often raises complex legal issues related to the management of local resources and environmental sustainability. This article examines the legal implications of foreign investment on natural resource utilization and environmental protection within tourist areas. Using a normative legal research approach supported by case studies in selected tourist destinations, the study highlights how legal frameworks regulate foreign investors’ activities, particularly concerning land use, water management, and waste disposal. Findings indicate that while foreign investment contributes to economic advancement, weak enforcement of environmental regulations and lack of community involvement often lead to overexploitation of resources and ecological degradation. The study suggests strengthening environmental law enforcement, enhancing local community participation, and harmonizing investment regulations with sustainable development principles. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers in balancing the dual objectives of economic growth and environmental protection in tourism-based regions.
