Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation carried out by the principal together with stakeholders in developing students' character at SMA IT Assalam Islamic School. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects of the study are the principal and four teachers at SMA IT Assalam Islamic School. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation, and observation. The conclusion of this study is that the principal of SMA IT Assalam Islamic School has designed and implemented a collaborative strategy for character development, which includes the integration of values such as discipline, honesty, and hard work into the curriculum and extracurricular activities. By involving parents and the school committee, and applying fair disciplinary policies, the principal has successfully established a strong foundation for students’ character formation. Although most students have successfully adopted these values, challenges remain regarding inconsistency among certain students. Systematic supervision and evaluations involving stakeholders demonstrate the success of the program, although continuous improvements are being made to achieve greater consistency and sustainable character development. The findings imply the importance of planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation that involve all stakeholders for effective character development. Consistency of values between home and school, along with ongoing evaluation, is essential for the program's effectiveness

Abstract

Cases of violence and bullying within educational settings in Indonesia have become a serious issue, with 2,355 recorded violations of child protection in the education sector as of August 2023. Bullying most frequently occurred at the elementary and junior high school levels (25% each), followed by senior high schools and vocational schools (18.75% each), Islamic junior high schools (6.25%), and Islamic boarding schools (6.25%). Specifically, Aceh Province has also reported a significant number of bullying and sexual violence cases, with 575 cases of sexual violence against women and children recorded by June 2023. In response to the widespread prevalence of harassment cases in Indonesia, particularly in Pidie District, the Ministry of Education issued Regulation No. 46 of 2023 concerning the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Educational Settings. This regulation aims to create a safe and effective learning environment, one of its key measures being the establishment of a Team for the Prevention and Handling of Violence (TPPK) in every educational institution. However, the implementation of this regulation still faces challenges, especially in Pidie District. Observations indicate that the formation of TPPK has not been optimal, particularly at the kindergarten to junior high school levels, whereas senior and vocational high schools—under provincial government authority—have demonstrated more efficient implementation. Although there have been previous studies discussing the prevention and handling of violence in educational environments—whether related to Regulation No. 46 of 2023 or efforts to prevent bullying through character education—these studies tend to focus on narrow scopes. Therefore, this study specifically examines “The Implementation of Regulation No. 46 of 2023 on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Kindergartens in Pidie District.” This research is crucial for assessing the effectiveness of policy implementation on a broader scale and for emphasizing the importance of early prevention, considering that violent and bullying behavior is often part of a long-term pattern

This study aims to determine: (1) the influence of school culture on the job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers in PKG Region III, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province, (2) the influence of school culture on the work motivation of kindergarten teachers in PKG Region III, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province, (3) the influence of school culture on the performance of kindergarten teachers in PKG Region III, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province, (4) the influence of job satisfaction on the performance of kindergarten teachers in PKG Region III, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province, and (5) the influence of work motivation on the performance of kindergarten teachers in PKG Region III, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province. The population in this study were all kindergarten teachers under the auspices of PKG Region III, Pidie Regency, totaling 114 people, with a sample size of 89 people determined using proportional random sampling techniques. This study uses a quantitative approach and path analysis method to test the direct influence between variables. The results of the study indicate that school culture has a direct influence on job satisfaction with a beta coefficient of 0.882 (88.2%), on work motivation of 0.897 (89.7%), and on teacher performance of 0.145 (14.5%). Job satisfaction has a direct effect on teacher performance of 0.116 (11.6%), while work motivation has the most dominant effect on teacher performance with a beta coefficient of 0.945 (94.5%). This finding implies that work motivation is a key factor in improving the performance of kindergarten teachers, which is strengthened by the role of school culture and positive job satisfaction
