Abstract

Microsleep is one of the factors that causes a decrease in vigilance that can have a serious impact on occupational safety, especially in industrial sectors with high risk levels such as heavy equipment and vehicle operations. This condition occurs suddenly and often escapes the detection of conventional surveillance systems, thus increasing the likelihood of work accidents. These challenges are even greater in a work environment with high operational burdens and rotating work patterns that affect the quality of sleep of workers. This study was conducted to evaluate the application of biometric-based detection technology and wearable devices combined with fatigue prevention policies. The study used a systematic literature review method on 25 primary articles published in the period 2020–2024 in a number of indexed international journals. The results of the analysis showed that the integration of real-time biometric monitoring with flexible work policies can increase the accuracy of microsleep detection by up to 85% and help reduce the potential for work accidents. This integrated approach is expected to be able to encourage the transformation of the occupational safety system to be more proactive, adaptive, and data-based, so as to create a safe and sustainable work environment.

Abstract

Electricity utilization in the provinces of South Sulawesi, Southeast and West Sulawesi is rapidly growing at a high rate. In Southeast Sulawesi Province, between the years of 2020 and 2024, it significantly grew by 12.66% per year. To meet with this high demand, for such a reason, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara Indonesia Power/Electricity State Owned Company Info (PLN) ordered Nusantara II Barge Mounted Power Plant (BMPP) to PT PAL Surabaya and built a new jetty to mount the 60 MW plant in Wolo, Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi. It is important to conduct risk management to ensure the success of the project by identifying and mitigating impact the risks that could be an obstacle smoothing delivery of the BMPP and the construction of its mounting dock. This study aims to analyze and manage risks for the construction of the BMPP Jetty. A risk analysis of the project was made to oversee what risks could interfere during the procurement stage, delivery the plant, implementation/construction stage up to the completion of the project. The research in this paper uses a descriptive qualitative approach and survey to examine the consequences of risks collected based on purposive sampling from Users, Contractors, Project Owners, and Project workers. The identified risks are then calculated and mitigated as necessary to control them. There were 47 risks identified, and after thorough analysis using the HIRADC method, 17 (36%) risks were low, 29 (62%) risks were moderate and 1 (2%) risk was high risk, which was related to the delivery of the BMPP itself. This research can help users, project owners, or other stakeholders in identifying, understanding, and responding to risks more effectively so that projects can be completed on time, without work accidents, but good quality, and within the planned budget. Good risk control and mitigation have made the project completed on time without accidents, delays, and with good quality delivered. The pattern of project implementation and management are be able to serve as reference to similar project in the future.

Abstract

Background: Competent graduates from Medical Records and Health Information and Health Information Management (MRHIM-HIM) programs are critical to quality patient care. However, no national standardized assessment currently integrates knowledge, skills, and attitudes in MRHIM-HIM education. Objective: To develop and pilot a competency assessment instrument for MRHIM-HIM education integrating knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Methods: Using Research and Development methodology, this study progressed through exploration, development, and evaluation phases. Participants included MRHIM-HIM faculty, educational association administrators, and medical records stakeholders, selected via criterion-based purposive sampling. Qualitative analysis identified patterns, themes, and meanings from observations, interviews, and document reviews. Results: The instrument demonstrated strong psychometric properties (CVI=0.92, Cronbach's ?=0.94) with representative performance indicators. Pilot testing confirmed comprehensive, contextual competency assessment capability. Students showed strong mastery across technical, managerial, and professional domains consistent with national education standards. Conclusion: This validated instrument effectively measures and enhances MRHIM-HIM graduate competencies and may serve as a national performance-based assessment standard. Digitalization and expanded testing are recommended for broader educational and certification implementation. Keywords: development, pilot testing, instrument, assessment, competency.
