Abstract

Spoiler is one of the components that has an important role in an airplane. This component serves to slow down the speed of an aircraft both in the air and on the ground. However, due to its classification as part of secondary flight control, its understanding is often limited to the general public as a braking device on an aircraft without paying attention to the complexity of its functions and mechanisms. Therefore, the design of this spoiler simulation is expected to help in understanding the work simulation of a spoiler on an aircraft. This tool is designed with a simple working system using a syringe and hose as a simple depiction of the hydraulic system performance on the aircraft, which is also equipped with a series of electrical systems consisting of arduino, servo and microswitch as a support system for this tool so that it can describe the difference in performance between flight spoiler (speed brake) and ground spoiler. The wing structure of this tool is made of thermoplastic material (PLA) and mica plastic, so that it can make it easier to see how this tool can work. This tool is also equipped with a lever that is duplicated as the original according to the aircraft. Based on the design and assembly that has been done, this tool is proven to work successfully in accordance with its respective functions.
