Abstract

he purpose of this study is to map the development and direction of Islamic Studies Curriculum research published in Scopus-indexed journals between 1980 and 2023. A bibliometric research design was applied, utilizing data extracted from the Scopus database. The analysis was conducted using Excel and R/R-Studio, while VOSviewer was employed to visualize keyword co-occurrence networks and citation relationships. The findings reveal a total of 595 relevant publications that met the established criteria. The annual growth rate of research output was 9.26%, with 2022 identified as the peak year for publications. Indonesia was the country contributing the largest number of studies, with strong affiliations from institutions such as Riphah International University. In terms of authorship, Arvisais, O. emerged as the most prolific author within this research domain. Furthermore, the bibliometric mapping highlighted dominant thematic clusters including curriculum design, Islamic education, learning outcomes, and religious values. The implications of this study suggest that research on the Islamic Studies Curriculum is gaining increasing attention globally, particularly in Southeast Asia, and that there are significant opportunities for collaboration and innovation in this field. Future studies are recommended to expand the scope of analysis by including additional national and international databases beyond Scopus to capture a more comprehensive understanding of the research landscape.

Abstract

This study addresses the contradiction between the rapid digitalization of social and administrative services and the limited modernization of Islamic marriage systems in the United Kingdom. Conventional marriage registration often lacks efficiency, accessibility, and transparency, creating challenges for couples seeking both administrative and religious validation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the contemporary transformation of Islamic marriage services through the MyNikahNow application, which integrates digital innovation with Islamic legal principles to improve service effectiveness and legitimacy. This research employs a qualitative descriptive–analytical design. The data sources include primary materials, such as interviews with users, Islamic law scholars, and certified marriage officers, as well as secondary materials derived from official documents and academic studies. Data collection techniques involve documentation, online observation, and semi-structured interviews, while data analysis is conducted through thematic interpretation to identify patterns of technological, legal, and social transformation in digital marriage practices. The findings show that MyNikahNow effectively enhances administrative efficiency, reduces errors, and strengthens compliance with Sharia law. The application also bridges traditional religious norms with contemporary digital innovation, offering a new paradigm in managing Islamic marriages within Western contexts. This novelty demonstrates that faith-based services can adapt to digital modernization while maintaining legal and moral integrity. This study contributes to the development of digital Islamic family law and religious governance models. It recommends future research to explore comparative applications in other regions to enhance the inclusivity, sustainability, and contextual relevance of digital Islamic marriage systems.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the implementation of Value-Based Leadership (VBL) in selected Islamic higher educational institutions in North Sumatera, Indonesia. Despite the growing emphasis on leadership in Islamic higher education, empirical evidence on the perception and measurement of Value-Based Leadership in Indonesia remains limited. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing survey questionnaires to gather data from undergraduate students. The study's population comprises students from three State Islamic Universities: UIN Sumatera Utara, UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan, and STAIN Madina, totaling 33,492 students. A stratified random sampling method was used to select a sample size of 380 respondents, ensuring representativeness across the institutions. The methodology involved descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), including Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), to test the hypothesized model. Data screening was performed to identify missing data, outliers, and assess normality using skewness and kurtosis values. Key findings indicate that the highest perceived dimension of VBL among respondents is commitment emerged as the most prominent perceived dimension, followed by accountability, Integrity, and Sense of direction. The initial CFA model for VBL did not meet the Goodness-of-Fit (GoF) requirements. However, after re-specification through the removal of 5 items re-specification for improved fit the revised model demonstrated improved fit indices(230.470, df = 95, = 2.426, CFI = .986, RMSEA = .061, TLI = .982, GFI = .932. The convergent validity of the revised VBL model was confirmed, with AVE values 0.5 and CR values 0.7, supporting the validity and reliability of the VBL measurement model. This study contributes to understanding the perception and measurement of value-based leadership and offers a validated framework to guide research and leadership development in Islamic higher education.

Abstract

The semiconductor industry in Taiwan, led by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), plays a strategic role in maintaining global technological and economic balance. Escalating geopolitical tensions between the United States and China have reshaped the dynamics of this industry, as the U.S. implements restrictive policies on semiconductor exports to China and promotes supply chain diversification through legislation such as the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022. This study aims to analyze the geopolitical impact of U.S. policies on Taiwan’s semiconductor market through the lens of Sharia economic principles, which emphasize justice (adl), balance (mizan), and the promotion of public welfare (maslahah). Employing a qualitative descriptive approach combined with a sociological legal method, the research collects data through in-depth interviews with semiconductor industry experts, scholars of international trade law, and Islamic economic theorists. Document analysis was also conducted on policy texts, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) reports, export control regulations, and relevant trade statistics from WSTS and SEMI. The findings reveal that while U.S. initiatives offer short-term advantages to Taiwan by enhancing technological security and global competitiveness, they also generate long-term vulnerabilities such as dependency risks, unequal market access, and potential ethical imbalances. Viewed through Sharia principles, these dynamics highlight the importance of fairness, mutual benefit, and sustainability in global trade governance. The study concludes that applying Islamic ethical frameworks can contribute to a more just and balanced semiconductor market in the evolving geopolitical order.
