Abstract

This study aims to determine the prevalence of migraine and the level of resilience and quality of life in final-year medical students. This descriptive observational study was conducted on final-year medical students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra, from November 29, 2023, to December 20, 2023. The results showed that the prevalence of migraine was 16.2%, with 72.4% experiencing mild migraine and 27.6% experiencing severe migraine. Among students with mild migraine, 57% had moderate resilience, and 61.9% reported a good quality of life. Of students with severe migraine, 63% had moderate resilience, and 62.5% reported a good quality of life. These findings indicate that medical students in this study generally have good quality of life and moderate resilience, regardless of migraine severity. This indicates the possibility of adaptive coping mechanisms. However, the small sample size, especially in the severe migraine group (n=8), suggests the need for further research with a larger population to validate these results.

Abstract

The decline in infant and under-five mortality rates is one of the indicators that determines the level of public health in Indonesia. This can be done by implementing an immunization program. However, the 35% lack of maternal participation in bringing children for immunization has resulted in a lack of immunization coverage in Suka Raja Village, so education is needed regarding the importance of immunization to improve children's health and prevent the transmission of diseases that can be prevented by immunization. This activity aims to eliminate mothers' concerns and doubts regarding the side effects of immunization, increase mothers' awareness regarding the importance of immunization, and encourage mothers' active participation in immunization programs to achieve optimal immunization coverage. Education is carried out using PowerPoint media accompanied by images to make it easier for participants to receive the information presented. The impact of this activity was assessed using a questionnaire and analyzed to determine the mother's willingness to participate in the child immunization program. Extension analysis shows an increase in maternal knowledge regarding immunization. It was concluded that this activity changed mothers' views regarding immunization, thereby increasing mothers' participation in the immunization program.
