ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian reward dan punishment terhadap kinerja pegawai di Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Minahasa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 67 pegawai Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Minahasa. Kuesioner ini mengukur persepsi pegawai terhadap pemberian reward, punishment, dan tingkat kinerja mereka. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode statistik deskriptif dan inferensial untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa baik reward maupun punishment memiliki pengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai. Pemberian reward yang tepat dan adil cenderung meningkatkan motivasi dan kinerja positif pegawai, sementara penerapan punishment yang konsisten dan proporsional dapat membantu mengurangi perilaku negatif dan meningkatkan kepatuhan terhadap peraturan danmendorong kinerja pegawai yang optimal. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of reward and punishment on employee performance at the Minahasa Regency Education Office. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 67 employees of the Minahasa Regency Education Office. This questionnaire measures employee perceptions of reward, punishment, and their performance levels. This study was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistical methods to test the research hypothesis. The results of this study indicate that both reward and punishment have an effect on employee performance. Proper and fair reward provision tends to increase employee motivation and positive performance, while consistent and proportional implementation of punishment can help reduce negative behavior and increase compliance with regulations and encourage optimal employee performance.
