Abstract

The International Office Voluntary Program (IOSVOLP) at UIN Salatiga plays a strategic role in supporting the internationalization of higher education through active student involvement as volunteers. This program focuses on assisting international students in academic and non-academic adaptation while promoting Islamic values such as khidmah (service), ikhlas (sincerity), and amanah (responsibility). Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, the program fosters collaboration among students, the institution, and the international community. Results show that volunteers significantly strengthen international services, cultural exchange, and the university’s global networking, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as quality education, reduced inequalities, and peace-building. Challenges encountered include communication barriers and cultural differences, which are addressed through structured training, cultural introduction, and language support. The study highlights the need for a sustainable volunteer development system, including regular training and evaluation, to ensure both technical competence and value-based awareness. IOSVOLP is expected to serve as a professional and globally oriented campus volunteerism model rooted in Islamic values.

Abstract

الملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل تطبيق مدخل التعلُّم العميق (Deep Learning) في تعلُّم اللغة العربية من خلال طريقة المحاضرة في المدرسة الثانوية الإسلامية الحكومية (MAN 1) سمارانغ. ويتمثل الإشكال الرئيسي في انخفاض مشاركة الطلاب ونقص فهمهم العميق للمواد المُقدَّمة بالطريقة التقليدية. وقد استُخدم في البحث المنهجُ النوعيُّ الوصفيُّ، من خلال الملاحظة، والمقابلات، وتحليل الوثائق المتعلقة بالمعلِّم والطلاب. وأظهرت النتائجُ أن دمج التعلُّم العميق في طريقة المحاضرة يُسهم في رفع مستوى التفكير النقدي لدى الطلاب، وتعزيز فهمهم المفاهيمي، وزيادة دافعيتهم للتعلُّم. كما يلعب المعلِّم دورًا محوريًّا في إدارة عمليات التأمُّل والتحليل والتعميق لدى الطلاب خلال الحصة. وبالتالي، فإن تطبيق التعلُّم العميق أثبت فعاليته في تعميق عملية تعلُّم اللغة العربية دون التفريط في جوهر طريقة المحاضرة التقليدية. الكلمات المفتاحية: التعلُّم العميق، تعلُّم اللغة العربية، طريقة المحاضرة Abstract: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Deep Learning approach in Arabic language instruction through the lecture method at MAN 1 Semarang. The primary issue addressed is students’ low engagement and insufficient deep understanding of content delivered through conventional methods. The research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive methodology, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers and students. Findings indicate that integrating Deep Learning into the lecture method enhances students’ critical thinking skills, conceptual understanding, and learning motivation. Teachers play a crucial role in facilitating students’ reflection, analysis, and elaboration processes during instruction. Thus, the application of Deep Learning has proven effective in deepening Arabic language learning while preserving the essential characteristics of the traditional lecture method. Keywords: Deep Learning, Arabic language instruction, lecture method ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pendekatan Deep Learning dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Arab melalui metode ceramah di MAN 1 Semarang. Masalah utama yang diangkat adalah rendahnya keterlibatan siswa dan kurangnya pemahaman mendalam terhadap materi yang disampaikan secara konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap guru serta peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi Deep Learning dalam metode ceramah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, pemahaman konseptual, dan minat belajar siswa. Guru berperan penting dalam mengelola proses refleksi, analisis, dan elaborasi siswa selama pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, penerapan Deep Learning terbukti efektif dalam memperdalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Arab tanpa menghilangkan esensi metode ceramah tradisional.
