The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with document analysis techniques. The results of the study show that in the lyrics of the song "Lesung Pipi" two types of phrases were found, namely endocentric phrases and exocentric phrases. The endocentric phrases found consist of nominal endocentric phrases, verbal endocentric phrases, adverbial endocentric phrases, and adjectival endocentric phrases. The distribution of endocentric phrases in the song lyrics is more dominant compared to exocentric phrases. This study provides an overview of the syntactic structure used in contemporary Indonesian popular songs and how the choice of phrase structure can affect the aesthetics and message delivery in a song.

Abstract

This study examines the character of Jose Karosta in the drama script "Mastodon dan Burung Kondor" by W.S. Rendra using a sociology of literature approach. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the character of Jose Karosta, identify the social criticism represented through the character, and examine the relationship between the character of Jose Karosta and the socio-political conditions of Indonesia at the time the script was written. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques. Data were collected through literature studies with reading and note-taking techniques. The results of the study show that the character of Jose Karosta represents a critique of social inequality, economic imperialism, and structural injustice that occurs in society. Through the character of Jose Karosta, Rendra criticizes the dominance of foreign powers, the exploitation of natural resources, and describes the struggle of the indigenous people in facing the power of neocolonialism. The sociology of literature analysis of the character of Jose Karosta shows that W.S. Rendra uses literature as a medium of resistance against the hegemony of power and to voice the aspirations of the oppressed people. This study concludes that the representation of the character Jose Karosta in "Mastodon dan Burung Kondor" is a reflection of the socio-political conditions of Indonesia during the New Order era and a manifestation of Rendra's critical views on social injustice.

Abstract

This research aims to improve listening skills through the use of Power Point media for students in grade 1-A of Indonesian Language Education, Siliwangi University. This research was conducted online through the Gmeet application to evaluate listening skills and the ability to do student evaluations in grade 12 Indonesian subjects. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method. The results showed that of the 5 best students who managed to achieve the highest score in filling out questions, no one achieved 100% success. Technical constraints such as unstable networking, disconnected sound, and less obvious audio are major obstacles in online learning, leaving students unable to work on the problem to the fullest. Although most of the students (72.2%) were able to listen well, 27.8% of students had difficulty. The materials provided include association, metaphor, personification, metonymy, pleonasm, hyperbola, lithotes, euphemism, irony, cinism, and synekdok. Researchers realize that not all students have a strong memory, so the conclusion is that 1-A students majoring in Indonesian Language Education cannot answer quizzes or questions 100% correctly, especially with disturbances during online learning.
