Abstract

According to the World Health Organization the prevalence of stunting in toddlers in Indonesia has decreased from 24.4% in 2021 to 21.6% in 2022. However, the figure still has not reached the national stunting target of 14% (WHO, 2020). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 2-5 years in Sungai Dareh Village, the working area of Sungai Dareh Health Center. The method used was an analytical survey using a cross-sectional study approach with a sample of 84 respondents. The sampling technique for this study used Accidental sampling is a technique for determining samples based on chance, that is, anyone who happens to meet the researcher can be used as a sample, if the person who was met by chance is deemed suitable as a data source. The instrument used was an observation sheet. Based on univariate analysis, the results showed that 42 toddlers (50%) had normal nutritional status, and 75 toddlers (89.3%) had normal stunting. Based on bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test, the results showed that there was a relationship between nutritional status examination and the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 2-5 years with a p value of 0.000 < 0.05. It is expected that the results of this study can be used as a reference for Sungai Dareh Health Center in improving the quality of health services, especially in examining nutritional status with stunting incidents.Keywords: Nutritional Status, Stunting, Toddlers

Abstract

ABSTRACT Independence is important for mentally retarded children and needs to be trained as early as possible so that children do not depend too much on other people. Family support is very important for children with mental retardation, because if they do not get support from family and the environment it will cause obstacles to their development and independence. To determine the relationship between family support and independence in daily living activities for mentally retarded children at SLB Athallah Sungai Rumbai in 2023. The research method used is a correlation method with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling. The results of this study indicate that 26 respondents (52%) received family support and 28 persons (56%) were not independent. The statistical test results showed that there was a relationship between family support and independence in activity daily living (p value = 0.009> 0.05). To increase the independence of mentally retarded children in carrying out daily activities, support from the family is needed. Therefore it is suggested to Athallah Sungai Rumbai SLB teachers to provide education to families to always provide informational, instrumental, emotional and assessment support so that children can be independent in carrying out their daily activities. Keywords : Family Support, Independent Daily Living Activity, Mental Mental Disability.  ABSTRAK Kemandirian merupakan hal yang penting bagi anak tunagrahita dan perlu dilatih sedini mungkin agar anak tidak bergantung berlebihan kepada orang lain. Dukungan keluarga sangat penting bagi anak dengan tunagrahita, karena jika tidak mendapatkan dukungan dari keluarga maupun lingkungan akan menyebabkan hambatan pada perkembangan dan kemandiriannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan kemandirian activity daily living pada anak tunagrahita di SLB Athallah Sungai Rumbai tahun 2023. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa responden 26 orang (52%) mendapatkan dukungan keluarga dan 28 orang(56%) tidak mandiri. Hasil uji statistik didapatkan adanya hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan kemandirian activity daily living dengan (p value = 0,009> 0,05). Untuk meningkatkan kemandirian pada anak tunagrahita dalam melakukan kegiatan sehari-hari dukungan dari keluarga sangat diperlukan. Oleh karena itu disarankan kepada guru-guru SLB Athallah Sungai Rumbai untuk memberikan edukasi kepada keluarga untuk selalu memberikan dukungan secara informasional, instrumental, emosional dan penilaian supaya anak bisa mandiri dalam melakukan kegiatan sehari-hari. Kata Kunci: Dukungan Keluarga, Kemandirian Activity Daily Living, Tunagrahita.
