Abstract

This research aims are to analyze production growth of beef in South Sumatra, to analyze behavior description of demand factors of beef in South Sumatra, to analyze response of factors that affect demand of beef in South Sumatra. This research used historical method. The data are analyzed in the model of econometrics and are processed with 2 SLS mode and followed by elasticity analyze. The results indicated that : 1) the development of beef production in South Sumatera continues to increase, despite it has not been able to fulfill all of beef demand in South Sumatera, 2) the factors that affect the demand of beef in South Sumatra are price of chicken meat, income in South Sumatera, and lagged demand of beef in South Sumatera, 3) In short-term, income is inelastic where the change in income is not responsive to the beef demand. This is due increase in income has not been able to increase their purchasing power. In long-term changes in income are responsive. Population changes in both the short-term and long-term are responsive to beef demand. It is because beef is not a staple food therefore population growth will cause the population to reduce the demand for food thatis not a staple food.

Abstract

The community is currently running the Back to Nature movement. It is considered a response to today’s lifestyle activities that are considered unhealthy to cause various kinds of diseases. Organic rice farming in Sambirejo Village has been implemented since 2018, although not all farmers have cultivated organically in their farming. This research aims to determine the feasibility of organic rice farming and determine the impact of organic fertilizer on the organic rice production rate in Sambirejo Village, Banyuasin 1 District. The research was carried out from February 2021 to June 2021. Locations were selected intentionally. The research method was in the form of a direct survey of organic rice farmers. For respondents, 30 farmers were taken using a simple random method. This research indicates that the average income earned by organic rice farmers is Rp. 5,703,254/Ha/planting season, with a proportion of R/C 1.65. Organic rice is feasible to cultivate when viewed from the proportion of R/C value that provides additional revenue for each additional revenue. Variable use of organic fertilizer has a positive, real and significant effect on increasing organic rice production, based on the result of calculated t value of 9.245 which is greater than t table. So that organic rice farming is very feasible for development in Sambirejo Village.

Abstract

In South Sumatra Province, celery plants are often found in highland sizes, such as the Pagar Alam area in Kerinjing Village, North Dempo District, which is one of the areas producing celery vegetables. In Kerinjing Village, celery plants have the potential to be developed. This research aims to decide the factors that impact the income of celery farmers and the amount of income generated from celery farming in Kerinjing Agung Lawongan Village, North Dempo District, Pagaralam City. This research was carried out from April 2023 to August 2023. It used a simple random method to take samples of farmers, while the Slovin method was used to decide the number of samples in this study, so the samples were 34 farmers from 150 populations. The variables employed in this study encompass farmer attributes such as age, educational attainment, agricultural experience, land size, and family size. The research used the multiple regression analysis method, utilizing SPSS and farming cost analysis for data processing. The research findings suggest that farming duration, production quantity, production expenses, and land size significantly affect the income variable. However, only the variables about the number of products and production costs exhibit a tangible impact. In contrast, the variables related to farming experience and land size do not demonstrate a substantial influence. The adjusted R-square in this study is 0.988, which means 98.8% of the independent variables can clarify the dependent variable. The average amount of celery production is 22,100 kg/Ha/MT, with the income of celery farmers being IDR. 97,475,400/Ha/MT.
