Abstract

The fashion brand “Kugle” faces significant operational challenges due to its dependence on third-party vendors, which has led to production delays, inconsistent quality, and high operating costs. To address these issues and support sustainable business growth, this study focuses on analyzing the feasibility of establishing an independent convection production facility in the form of equipment for producing t-shirts and pants. The research hypothesis is that the development of an internal production system will be an effective solution to improve quality control, time and cost efficiency, and build a stronger business foundation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a comprehensive business feasibility study analysis method. The data collection process involved a study of internal company documents, sales data analysis, interviews, and observations. The collected data was then processed and analysed based on six main aspects: market, technical, financial, legal, environmental, and management. Each aspect was evaluated to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential risks, as well as to validate the proposed hypothesis. The analysis shows that the plan to establish this independent production facility is highly feasible from all aspects. From a market perspective, research has proven that there is strong demand, as well as the feasibility of the project based on STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning) and 4P (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) analyses. Furthermore, from a technical perspective, this model will provide full control over the production process, which will directly resolve issues of quality and delays. Financially, this project is proven to be highly profitable with a positive NPV, an exceptionally high IRR (105%), and a very short Payback Period. From a legal perspective, the readiness in terms of business legality shows a strong foundation, while the environmental aspect shows adequate commitment to managing the impact of production responsibly. Finally, the management aspect shows readiness in managing more complex operations. Therefore, this research hypothesis has been proven, and the establishment of an independent production facility is recommended as a strategic step to transform “Kugle” into a more efficient and competitive brand.

Abstract

Suppliers play a crucial role in ensuring smooth production. Supplier performance assessments are essential for prioritizing and mitigating the risk of delays. NTHM Apparel Indonesia, a custom jersey manufacturer with a Make-to-Order system, frequently faces challenges when raw materials run out, particularly when suppliers are out of stock or late in delivering, resulting in production delays. This situation forces the company to choose suppliers with stock without considering price due to time constraints. This leads to greater reliance on a few suppliers with limited stock and order queues with other companies. This study assessed five fabric suppliers (Bandung, Solo, Jogja, Wonosobo, Semarang) based on seven criteria: quality, delivery, warranty/claim, price, reciprocal agreements, communication system, and availability of raw material stock using the SAW and TOPSIS methods. The results showed that the Jogja supplier received the highest score (0.78061), making it the top priority, followed by Bandung (0.571858), Solo (0.526222), Semarang (0.472904), and finally Wonosobo (0.297241).

Abstract

In the midst of rapid globalization and technological advances, companies are required to adapt to maintain competitiveness, one of which is through increasing productivity and operational effectiveness. MSME Rizki Konveksi faces challenges in meeting production targets due to the discrepancy between order volume and labor availability, especially in the screen printing and sewing divisions. This research aims to: (1) measure the level of productivity using the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method, (2) identify the factors causing the decline in productivity using the Fishbone Diagram, and (3) develop proposals for improvement using the 5W+1H approach. Based on productivity measurements for the period April–September 2024 using the OMAX method, performance productivity shows a fluctuating trend. The month of April is set as standard (base) conditions. Increased productivity occurred in June (0.901%) and July (1.180%). In contrast, a decline in productivity was detected in May (-0.620%), August (-0.412%), and September (-0.067%). Fishbone analysis shows that the decline is influenced by human factors (lack of labor when overloaded) and work methods. As a follow-up, this research develops an operational improvement strategy using the 5W+1H matrix to minimize production constraints and increase the stability of the company's productivity in the future.
